I do love ROPE, though.

Okay, so I watched DAWSON'S CREEK since the fourth grade. I watched the first episode cuz' someone told me I looked like James Van Der Beek (I still don't see the resemblance, I'm much more adorable...) and then I was hooked from episode one to Jen's heartbreaking farewell to her just born daughter. I have the first few seasons on DVD. I mean sure I wanted Dawson and Joey to end up together, but I was satisfied with the choice that was made. And Jack's coming out episode how great was that! I loved Henry and Jen.... awwwww.... And I actually cried when Abby Morgan died and Jen gave that awesome eulogy, ("well if God created Abby, then what does that say about God?") became an alcoholic and then Grams kicked her out... and Andy was a psycho!!! Whoo Hooo!!! There must be a support group for people like us...

as for romantic gay films I'm not sure how romantic COME UNDONE is but, sex on the beach is frikin' hot. So that's my vote. Updated On: 9/3/04 at 10:54 AM

Come Undone (I prefer its original title of Presque Rien) has to be one of THE most depressing movies I have seen. Yes, that scene was hot, but my GOD the rest of the movie was so downbeat. I saw it right after I saw The Piano Teacher, which was a HUGE mistake. I have never been more depressed in my life as I was after that double bill.

"Okay, so I watched DAWSON'S CREEK since the fourth grade."

That one sentence is more depressing than that entire speech last night.

No rubbing allowed before the big one eight, boys. And cats - enjoy the youth while it lasts...

Lets not turn this thread pornographic too, boys. We wouldn't want it to go the way of Mr. Rask's debut thread now would we?

"Billy's Hollywood Screen Kiss?" Anyone remember that flick?(it was just bf Sean Heayes was big and with the guy that sorta looked like a young Brad Pitt, Brad Rowe maybe?)

I can't remember just how romantic it was (it's been years since I saw it), but I remember one of the best, most honest moments of tension (should I, shouldn't I) (is he awake, is he asleep) right bf something sexual starts to happen.

Yes, that was an uber-sexy moment. Brad Rowe just screams sexiness in that movie. I was drooling the entire time.

I seem to recall it ending very happily though. I love that movie.

popcultureboy - that's actually one I've been meaning to see, so I'll have to check it out.

By the way, I'd still be interested in an overview of what strikes your fancy re: most romantic gay movie?

The Wedding Banquet...oh wait, the movie isn't that romantic.

It's kinda romantic. The lover (Simon?) of the main character did so much for his partner, just to make him happy. Plus, he could cook up a storm. It was like a variation of La Cage.

I agree. Simon did so much for him. I wasn't sure if it counts as romantic because it's more of a thinking film. I heart Ang Lee films.

The Wedding Banquet is a lovely film. Very poignant and thought-provoking. I especially love the last image of the film with the Chinese father being inspected at the airport. It always stuck with me.

I also love Ang Lee's Eat Drink Man Woman. What a beautiful and funny film. Don't watch it on an empty stomach, though.

Not 'romantic' by any stretch of the imagination, but we're getting ready to watch WILDE again - I swear Stephen Fry was born to play this role.
