My 2 new fave stupid restaurant reality shows.

Restaurant Stakeout. (Forgot when it's on.)
Mystery Diners. I think this one's on tonight 9 pm Foodnetwork

Both stupid, but enjoyable. They spy on employees!
Fun.

I watch these too! I can't believe some of the things e employees pull.

And then the reactions from some of those people who are caught are jaw dropping. None of them ever think what they did was wrong!

But, but, but, it's a reality show! It's supposed to be real, and you all have just ruined me!

I enjoy these as well. They usually come on back-to-back on Friday nights on Food Network I believe. I also like Restaurant: Impossible.

I like Mystery Diners and watch it sometimes. I can't watch Restaurant Stakeout - that accent is too much.

I'll watch Restaurant: Impossible from time to time. Plenty of drama and some backstory. Almost could be a musical - Restaurant: Impossible The Musical!

Robert ( The Sledgehammer ) Irvine
Gordon (Piss Off) Ramsey

How about Sweet Genius or Iron Chef? Than there is Masterchef. On Iron Chef is the Big Kahuna who also plays Wo Fat on Hawaii 5-0

Ann Burell show had gone to the great kitchen in the sky while Guy Fieri plugs on. Adam Richman eats his way to high cholestorol & Andrew Zimmer continues eating things no one else would touch

Bourdain moves to CNN but now is involved with a new NBC show called The Taste.

That restaurant stake out show is an insult to TV viewers everywhere. I watched abut 15 minutes and TRIED very hard to imagine that there was even a shred of Reality to it and failed. some of those "candid" shots are three camera set-ups. Come on people, include a scene or two per episode that isn't perfected centered and shot like a soap opera.

Mystery Diners seems too fake. I've worked in my share of restaurants, and some of these just seem set-up.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

I watched restaurant impossible a few times. At first i thought it was mildly entertaining, but then each show is exactly the same. The kitchen is dirty, the chef can't cook, and the place needs renovating. I'm done.

I agree with the above post, but I like to see the final results. In fact I will usually do something else until the end of the show. If I had to pick 2 favorite reality shows for now: Chopped, and Iron Chef: Redemption.

Anyone remember Alan and Nina? The 1st Foodnetwork show ever? (reviews)

Restaurant Impossible is a bit formulaic for me (Robert always screams at the designer, they always run late, the new restaurants always look kinda the same) but I enjoy it. I guess I can't get enough of seeing people who have never worked in a restaurant (or even eaten in one, sometimes it seems) deciding to sink a half-million into some nondescript place. Flipping houses and opening restaurants are America's new can't-fail, get-rich-quick schemes.

I wish the Food Network would just stick to cooking shows. And Good Eats.

No reality shows, no throwdowns, no screaming, no crying, no competing, no tension, no criticism.

Just something restorative, pleasurable, informative, affirmative.

They had the best thing going. Why do they always have to screw everything up?

I use to like Throwdown. I found there was real heart in there -- and I'm sure many of those shows brought HUGE recognition to the places involved.

I know I would have never tried the Waffles and Dinges food truck without.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

The Great Food Truck Race is good too. I'm still trying to get over the fact that Alex Guarneschelli (sp?) is the next Iron Chef.

All of the restaurants that had a makeover on that Gordon Ramsey-saves-our-restaurant show have closed.

After Eight, the Cooking Channel has sort of taken over that mantle - they're heavier on the actual cooking shows these days than Food Network is. And when they show competitive cooking shows, sometimes it's Japanese Iron Chef, which is awesome.

That jackass on Restaurant Stakeout is reason enough not to watch it, but the fakeness is just too much to take. The acting is so bad, especially during the confrontation at the end. Ugh!

I do love FN and HGTV, Cooking and DIY. They are my go tos when nothing is on. Only problem is that Cooking and DIY arent in HD.
