I got out of rehearsal for my college's production of Footloose and got what I thought was a recent text from my dad that said for me to call him. It turned out that the text wasn't from tonight and was an old one left over from last night. I called to ask why he wanted to talk to me and that was when he told me that the text that I got was just an old one and that I should ignore it. I asked how my dog was doing due to the fact that I knew he wasn't doing well.
That was when he told me. Sorry, I just need to rant and vent. He was more then just a dog to me he was my baby brother and my best friend.

Sorry to hear that. Thinking good thoughts your way.
I'm sorry - I know how you feel. My pet died last month.
My condolences Winston. I'm so sorry. I don't know how I would be able to deal with the loss of my dog, I'm so sorry this happened.
I'm so sorry about the loss of your dog. I definitely know how you feel, seeing that I did the same thing last June when my dog passed away (coming on here to vent.)
It's a horrible feeling at first, but over time it gets a little better. I still think about her everyday.

I'm sorry Winston *hugs*
Hey Winston, I am totally in the same place you are tonight. I had to put down my 17 year old border collie this afternoon. The hardest thing I have done in a very very long time.
I know though that time will heal the pain and the sorrow will be filled with memories of the good times. It is unfortunate that out four legged friends, who are made very much from the same stuff we are last such a short time. The love they provide is invaluable though a a salve to the soul.
I'm sorry, Winston. My baby boy Keppie died last November and it's oh so painful. But just think of the happy life he led with you.
The part that sucks is this. So I had found out when I was on the phone with my dad after I got out of rehearsal. I walked back to m dorm still in tears etc over the information I had just found out. One of my housemates saw that it was clear that I was upset and asked me what had happened. When I told him he shrugged it off and said "hey it was just a dog." As if his death was this minor thing. I wanted to punch the little ****er.
I got angry because it wasn't like I loved him any differently then I would a human because I don't know how to do that. It wasn't like I said 13 years ago that I will love him differently because he is a dog.
Ohh... Winston, that's terrible. I'll keep you in mind.
Miss Holly and I send out condolences. She's 13 now and half-blind and arthritic and slowing down in worrisome ways.
We only have them for such a short time, but they love us enough for a lifetime.
So sorry to hear this.
Sorry for you as well, Snafu.
All best wishes and heartfelt condolences.
Im so sorry, Winston. Our dog is like a baby brother to my daughter and I totally inderstand that. He is 13 now and not doing well. Sending you hugs.

That's really tough, Winston and SNAFU. I've always been very sensitive towards pets and just hearing other people talk about these things really upsets me too. I'll keep both of you in my thoughts.
winston and snafu, sorry for your loss.....it is never easy when a friend dies, animal or human.
Winston, you can get angry at people who make comments like that or you can feel sorry for them. Obviously they have never had the joy of having a dog and experiencing the life enriching love and devotion a dog provides. If they had, they would know like us each dog is an individual with their own quirks and personalities. They would know that these four legged (ok, sometimes three and rarely two) critters become valued members of the family.
Dog owners themselves tend to be a special breed!
amend that to pet owners......anyone with a pet would understand
So sorry to both Winston and Snafu...
Sorry for your losses Winston and Snafu.
It is hard losing a pet.
My two furry ones give you a big old virtual hug.
