Taylor is a doormat-in-training, and guys like Sebastian (and his creepy dad) prey on people like that. It's like watching a train wreck.
It's so sad that these kids aren't allowed to be kids. When that DJ at Zoe's party seemed interested in Jessi, she actually looked innocently cute for a second. These kids need to be like, taken away from all this crap they're being exposed to, and then they might act like decent human beings!
The morning star always gets wonderful bright the minute before it has to go --doesn't it?
I agree with you, misschung. At first I was sort of shocked at how forward Taylor was about being interested in Sebastian's money, but the more I thought about it (and I can't believe that I actually DID think about it, but there it is), the more her storyline disturbs me. Especially her interactions with Cole. She has absolutely no self-confidence, and she's going to be one of those girls who gets herself into trouble because she can't say no. It seems to me that it's not so much that she can't decide between Sebastian and Cole as that she's desperate for their approval and, by extension, validation. She doesn't want to put either of them off, but it's really kind of sad and spineless. As you said, easy prey. Updated On: 7/8/09 at 09:03 PM

Not to mention that doesn't she realize that he is going to SEE that? And that lots of other people are going to see it, too? Does she not care how she comes off?
Agree, agree, agree, agree, agree, agree, agree.... (jumping in too late to join the conversation - but I agree with everything you guys have written!)
That Gawker article is the funniest thing I've ever read. This is gold: "...felt that nothing could be finer than a rich boy in her 'giner." I mean, really, has a better line ever been written? It's signature worthy.
"Two drifters off to see the world. There's such a lot of world to see. . ."
Do you guys ever read the cast blogs on the Bravo website? Apparently, Taylor is only joking about the whole status/marrying into money, but I doubt that.
Taylor does come off a lot better on her blog than on the show, I do have to admit. Of course, those shows are always edited to bring out the drama in every situation.
EDIT: From the NYMag article:
I wasn't surprised when some of the NYC Prep cast I interviewed suggested that the people they were onscreen were not the people they were in real life. Kelli, for example, says that she doesn't live alone on the show, she lives in an apartment while her parents stay in the Hamptons, popping in once in a while,€and also claims to have never been interested in Sebastian, on whom she is supposed to have an unrequited crush.
In my pants, she has burst like the music of angels, the light of the sun! --Marius Pantsmercy
Haha, convenient that NOW Taylor is joking -- you know, now that her idiocy is airing on televisions all over the country. It didn't seem much like she meant it to be a joke when she said it!
Taylor probably IS relatively intelligent; going to Stuy is nothing to sneeze at. She just comes off as a dumbass.
Kelli, for example, says that she doesn't live alone €”on the show, she lives in an apartment while her parents stay in the Hamptons, popping in once in a while
Wait, how is that different from what they're purporting on the show? On the show, she and her brother live in an apartment in the city, their parents are in the Hamptons and pop in once in a while.
They schools they attend are pretty common knowledge (much to the chagrin of the heads of school and parent bodies at those schools). PC and Jessie attend Dwight (commonly thought of as an acronym for Dumb White Idiots Getting High Together). It's generally thought of as a mediocre (and certainly not "elite") school. The same is true of Birch Wathen Lennox, the school that Kelli attends (along with Jill Zarin's daughter, Ally). Camille attends Nightingale-Bamford, a good all girls school, but certainly not among the top couple in the City. Sebastian doesn't attend school in Manhattan. He attends the Ross School, good school out at the east end of Long Island. I'm a NYC prep school mom who is extremely embarrassed at the thought of anyone, anywhere thinking that these kids in any way reflect the lives of a typical NYC Prep school kid (but I can't stop watching the train wreck...)

Stockard, it's hard to get accepted into (or it was) F.I.T's fashion design (very competitive department) and fine arts programs, where you need actual talent. Marketing, merchandising or buying? Eh. Not so much.
Well the only students I had that were trying to get in were trying for design. And the one girl was EXTREMELY talented but was an ESL student, so I think the written part of her application may have hurt her. The other one ended up getting in to Parson's but then she got pregnant the last semester of her senior year, so she didn't go. I was ready to knock her upside the head.....LOL
