What a great video. This whole NYC rally was organized in 4 days by a dynamic young man named Corey Johnson, whom you may remember as the high-school football player who came out a few years ago.

He surrounded himself with a bunch of people who were very experienced at putting together demonstrations and rallies from the Old Act-Up days, so they knew all about things like permits and reaching out to communities of color and cooperating with the police.

Then he used the Internet and Facebook to get the word out and, remarkably, four days later, 15,000 people showed up.

I think we should make a mega-thread for this big NATIONWIDE PROTEST PROP 8 ~where we can all post our photos from our cities. It will be nice to see all the photos & stories coming from NYC, Boston ( I will take photos!) Washington DC. Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Seattle, Columbus OH, Miami & Chicago (Did I miss any city?)

A week ago..I was VERY PROUD to be an American, only to be disappointed/ frustrated later with the outcome in CA. This morning I am VERY PROUD to be GAY!
because I know that we will give these f*** a fight! ITS NOT OVER YET! (quoting Phyllis)-were all militants & sh**** now!

Can't wait for Saturday! Let's all show these f*** that they just can't take away our brothers & sisters rights in CA. and make them a second class citizens! GO GAY GUEVARRAS! (quoating JRB!)

I'm glad these protests seem to be working. They are drawing national attention to this issue and the fact that (as Larry Kramer so simply and perfectly put it) people are "tired of being hated."

I think I already e-mail you guys (from Boston) thru facebook. I would appreciate if you can join us in City Hall this Saturday 1;30 to 4;00 pm.- RAIN or SHINE!! We need as much protesters in Boston. As of now- there are 3,910.00 confirmed people and 2,957 maybe attending thru facebook. LET'S ALL DOUBLE that number in Boston. I know its LEGAL to get married in MASS & CT (now!) .. but let's all remember.. THIS IS A NATIONAL ISSUE! It all affects us! Its not ONLY CA! These f*** will come here to New England too and TAKE AWAY OUR RIGHTS TOO! (me being legally married to Chris for 4 years here in MA. I know it would really hurt us, if they come here and DO the same UNSPEAKABLE HATRED they did to our bros and sisters in CA. PLUS.. IT'S NOT RIGHT and FAIR!!! MassEquality will join the Protest Prop 8! and I am urging ALL MassEquality members to join us!


Also the PROTEST PROP 8 in Providence, RI only has 300 'confirmed' protesters..IF YOU happen to LIVE or NEAR Providence- PLEASE PLEASE show your solidarity there!

That's WHY its VERY IMPORTANT to call your local papers and TV station this Saturday for the coverage. I was told by a friend who works for MASSEQUALITY that they contacted Boston Globe, Boston Herald, New England Cable news and our local NBC news here (Channel 7) to cover this Saturday Protest & March at The City Hall/Government Center...We know how to fight these bigot f*** here. We dealt with them in 2004 and 2006! WE NEED TO MAKE AS MUCH NOISE as possible & show this country that what they DID in CA. is NOT ACCEPTABLE and they just cant PUSH US ASIDE! Again..my fellow Bostonians~we are not safe! nor we can't EXCLUDE ourselves anymore!! We still have Mitt Romney's bigot mormon ass here (he still has political ambition, maybe a senator? ) and his supporters! plus Cardinal O' Malley ~they will strike back!!!

I am having goosebumps, just thinking about it~ that on SATURDAY~ there will be a PROTEST ACROSS the country on ALL THE MAJOR CITIES! I will be here in my city, standing, shouting. marching and holding my protest sign for all those couples victimized by this horrible PROP 8. in CA.

Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York City, Boston, Miami, Chicago, Las Vegas, Atlanta, Seattle, Washington DC, Columbus, OH and so many other cities will have one voice this saturday! All standing side by side...
