The plan apparently is to march down Broadway to Columbus Circle and end in front of the Time Warner Center with a Kiss-In.

And GMF--what's a nice protest chant we can say in Greek on your behalf?

And, though not entirely confirmed, the NYC Gay Men's Chorus has been invited to sing at the City Hall rally on Saturday, November 15.

When you're in doubt take my hand
I'll stand by your side tonight cause
We will be better when we are together and
We are united in love

I'm still wondering why this was put to a vote in the first place.

And, the Second March in October of 1987 that included the AIDS Quilt on the Mall. That gathering had about a half a million people. I'll never forget walking at the beginning of the march and lapping the end of it over the two mile route. Let your voices be heard!!!

I was so happy for the numbers and organized! People with their signs and megaphones organizing chants.

Glad it was such a success. I'm looking forward to the coverage it gets and change it will make happen.

I saw Whoopi there and Marc Shaiman and Tony Kushner and Jeff Whitty and and Doug Wright and Jake Shears and so many other theaterfolk, not there to speak or perform or be noticed, just there to BE there and to take part and to be counted, as New Yorkers, in support of our brothers and sisters in California and Florida and Arizona and Arkansas, and to stand up and say our love is greater than your bigotry.
But it wasn't the celebrities who mattered. It was the fact that there were so many of us. The crowds filled up Broadway from 66th Street down to Columbus Circle. However many thousands there were--and it was thousands not hundreds--we were 50-somethings who marched for AIDS and 20-somethings who never dreamed of marching, we were gay men and lesbians and straight friends. We knew who were are and we knew why we had come. And we're not going away.
