I know a lot of people don't really know her ( and so couldn't care) but this was one of the great love stories. Met each other when they were practically teenagers and that was it. Never anybody else. My heart goes out to Martin and his family. G*d bless and keep you all close.

So sad. Condolences to the family.
So sad to read about this as well. I thought the last line of Jason Alexander's tweet was very poetic.
" On Monday 23rd August 2010, @IJasonAlexander said:
I am devastated to learn that my dear friend, Martin Short, has suffered the loss of his wife. To my knowledge, this was very sudden and there are no details at present. I can only tell you that Marty is one of the kindest, dearest, brightest, funniest, and most wonderful people I have ever had the honor to know and work along side. He was devoted to Nancy, as he is to their children and my heart goes out to all of them. No one deserves this kind of tragedy, but certainly he did not. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. When the clowns can do nothing but cry, then laughter becomes lost for us all.

WOW-That line got to me. ( I had a dear friend who was a therapy clown in New York at both Mt Sinai and Sloan Kettering until he himself passed away far to young of pancreatic ca, so that line really reveberaties w me) thanks for sharing.
This makes me so sad. I knew Nancy briefly when I worked at Second City in Santa Monica. Marty was directing a benefit there, and Nancy would call or come by often. She was a lovely, fun, and funny woman. I enjoyed our talks together very much.
