Fanty - I understand why the Pope is officially considered a head of state. I'm familiar with the history of Vatican City. I just think it's absolutely insane that your church essentially owns a country (not to mention billions of dollars of artwork, artifacts and good old fashioned money). And, yes, I know this is the point at which you mention some Catholic charities and Catholic hospitals.

I know he's supposedly the "new world pope" but catholics that love and accept him and drink the

kool-aid need to wake up. read the history of the Catholic church in the 20th century....don't be ashamed of the chair, be ashamed of who is sitting in it and what he still represents.

At least he's right on climate change. If what he says makes a modicum of difference (will it?), then maybe he is doing some good after all. Which is something.

Well he's given permission for priests to forgive the "sin" of abortion. It's a limited time special-offer only, though, from December 2015 though November 2016. True story.

I gotta admit, that is some pretty amazing trolling by the Pope. Having the Congressional audience stand and clap when they assume he's talking about abortion and then immediately pivoting to advocating for the abolishment of the death penalty before they have time to sit down. That is brilliant:

I am convinced that this way is the best, since every life is sacred, every human person is endowed with an inalienable dignity.”
