I do, too, Janey. They are just a gorgeous couple!
Now, a little complaining :
I hate how they lure us into watching and then only show us one routine. AAARRRGGGHHH!
End of griping.
That was the first thought that came to my mind as soon as they went to luge. They know darn well that a majority of people are watching for the figure skating so that stretch it out so that we have to watch the whole night.
If I didn't love all the olympics I would be aggravated!
I'm with you, Jane. I love the Winter Olympics so I don't *mind* seeing other events, but still...ONE routine and BAM!
Anyway, that was terrific..despite the error! Good performance for first-timers Denney and Barrett!
But didn't the Zhens score in the 70's? These guys only got in the 50's. They had good unison, but it's going to be hard for any pair to beat the Zhens!
We are still on Women's speed skating.
Uncageg- don't read our posts, then because they will be spoilers for you!
What time do they start back east. I am all confused here. Vancouver is an hour behind us i think. Our coverage started at 6:00pm (8:00pm EST).
Hannah Kearny's awesome. Shout-out to the first gold medalist of Team USA winning with class, stylish pig-tails sticking out of her helmet, and genuine enthusiasm. Mogul skiers are incredible. That event hurts to watch sometimes.
Jane, I wasn't talking about their score. I just meant that I liked their performance.
But I have this to say about the Russian pair: I can't stand routines that begin with the skaters grabbing their heads and twisting them around!!!
I know you weren't talking about their score, Miss P. I just mentioned it as an aside. And again, the first thing I thought when the Russians began is how fugly that move is when he twisted her head around like a chiropractor!
Uncageg-the show started at 7 pm on the East coast tonight.
Now THAT was great!!! She's quite Michelle Kwanlike!
Ok, so the events actually start in Vancouver around 4:00 their time. So we are an hour behind in the broadcast.
The Canadian couple skated beautifully.
They just showed Sale and Pelletier doing the CTV broadcast. I loved those two in the Salt Lake Games.
I'm so impressed at the way Zhen and Xhao seem to be in a league of their own. No one has come close!
I missed most of the Canadians, Dottie. (Had to heat up my dinner.)
How did they do scorewise?
And Jane, you're right. They're near-perfect.
I was at dinner when Zhen and Xhao skated Sorry I missed them.
I was at dinner when Zhen and Xhao skated Sorry I missed them.
Too bad, Dottie. It was THE one performance not to be missed!
The Canadians scored around 62.
I guess I was so sorry that I had to post that twice!!
Can't believe the Canadians scored so high. They only did a double twist, and were out of sync several times.
I'm pretty sure you'll get to see it Dottie. Sometimes they re-show them during the long programs.
I'm betting Dottie could see it right now on YouTube!
I knew that costume he was wearing was going to cause trouble.
