And yet he will never get a second's credit from his detractors. It's insane. He's been doing the people's business one step at a time.

So far, every account I"ve read credits Libyan rebels with the killing. The French were also mentioned. I'm still not sure who killed him.

It's over a year until the elections...the opposition hasn't even fielded a candidate yet. I wouldn't exactly call this, waiting for election time.

I would. Campaigning has begun. It always does around this time.

He hasn't stopped campaigning! I simply have no clue what his foreign policy is. I do know that he's killed more people than all other Nobel Peace Prize winners, combined.

People or terrorists? If he let them go and did nothing the same people talking about his Peace Prize would be condemning him for allowing such tyrants go free when he had the chance to act and kill them. He simply can not win with his critics. This is not the year for an October Surprise. That always falls days or weeks before election time and I'm sure next year by this time the birth certificate story and Reverend Wright story will be recycled.

There's a tremendous difference between letting someone go free and killing them. It's called capturing them, ALIVE. He's the one that wants to give non-citizens accused of terrorism all the rights of American citizens. Meanwhile, he kills an actual American citizen. I'm not complaining about their deaths, I just don't understand all his double-talk. The newest "jobs" thingy is a prime example. It's the exact same spin (and lies) he told us before, when he spent about a trillion, and created no jobs. Now we're supposed to be concerned with rapes, robbery and murder?! It's truly like the inmates are running the asylum.

Its a gray area IMO.Osama Bin Laden could not have been captured alive and brought to trial.Same with Bin Laden's second in command. Obama did save the auto industry and prevented the USA from going into another economic depression. If anyone fails to recognize those facts then they simply can not be reasoned with. They'll believe what they want despite the evidence. Do you think McCain would have been better? Would his choices have been different(or better) than Obama's? The rapes, robbery, and murder thingy by the way is not just Obama. Its the Republicans and the jobs bill. You are cherry picking the facts here so please,be sure to mention the entire story.

Back on topic, ending this war is a good thing.Think of how much we have spent since day one on this dumb war.

What's McCain have to do with anything? When you have to compare him to someone else (that's what everybody does), you're admitting he can't be defended on his accomplishments. I couldn't stand John McCain. But, I know this, I'll vote for a Number 2 pencil if it runs against Obama. I just hope I find someone to vote for, because I'm sure as hell tired of voting against people. So far, Romney, Perry, Santorum and Bachmann aren't who I would want.

Thats not what I am saying at all. All I am saying is the guy can't win no matter what. If you didn't like McCain or like Obama, then why vote? You are going to be disappointed either way.No President will ever meet your expectations. You are either being unrealistic or unfair. I loved Bill Clinton but I did not agree with everything he did and it drove me nuts.Same with Obama.
I bet if you vote for the "other guy or woman and they win, you'll be back here weeks after the election complaining about the things they are doing.FYI, I think the group of misfits are it. One of them will be the GOP candidate. I'll be the first to admit,Obama is not perfect but he HAS DONE A LOT OF GOOD,IMO.
Say what you will but you can't deny the facts.
Ended don't ask don't tell
Passed and implemented a Recovery Act that as multiple reports have verified not only saved the economy from the brink but also funded up to 2 million American jobs.
Provided tax cuts for 95 percent of working families.
Rebuilt an economy that is growing for the first time in over a year.
Cut job losses from almost 800,000 a month to 20,000 a month.
Made the largest investment in green technology in history.
Made the largest investment in education in history.
Lifted the ban on stem cell research and restored science to its rightful place.
Raised fuel standards after years of stagnation and objection.
Ended predatory credit card practices.
Made equal pay for equal work more than a platitude with the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act.
Expanded health coverage to 4 million more low income American children with the expansion of SCHIP.
Expanded benefits for loving couples that work at the State Department.
Lifted the discriminatory, inhumane and unwise ban on immigration of those with HIV/AIDS.
Killed Osama Bin Laden.
Begun to responsibly wind down the war in Iraq.
Implemented a new way forward in Afghanistan in the face of withering criticism from the right and the left.
Enhanced American security by repairing our alliances and by restoring the rule of law and our standing in the world.
Successfully managed the outbreak of the H1N1 epidemic.
Prohibited lobbyists from serving on important boards and commissions.
Banned federal lobbyists and political action committees from contributing to the DNC.
Enhanced transparency by making all visitors who enter the White House and the names of those with whom they met publicly available.
and of course, now ending the war in Iraq. If all those things make you turn up your nose and you want to vote for someone else then TRUST ME,you are going to EXPLODE if someone else gets in.I started this thread about Obama ending this long ugly war of lies and cleaning up Bush's mess.Apparently all of the problems going on are entirely Obama's fault. Like I said, lets see how you like it when and if a Republican gets in.

He's done more for this country than any president since FDR, and still people can't stop bitching.

I guess facts are in the eye of the beholder.
As per the FactCheck.org:
"As we have written before, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office released a report in August that said the stimulus bill has "[l]owered the unemployment rate by between 0.7 percentage points and 1.8 percentage points" and "[i]ncreased the number of people employed by between 1.4 million and 3.3 million."
Simply put, more people would be unemployed if not for the stimulus bill. The exact number of jobs created and saved is difficult to estimate, but nonpartisan economists say there’s no doubt that the number is positive."
And, 1/3 of the recovery act were tax breaks. Another big chunk was for the extension of unemployment benefits, which are found to be VERY effective in spurring economic activity. About 30% were for contracts, infrastructure and the like. The total spend was less than a trillion dollars.
Recover Act increased employment.

Keith Olbermann pointed out tonight that Obama didn't end it, Iraq told us to get out. And since W signed an agreement saying we would be out by the end of this year, we will be out by the end of this year.

Obama has been a victim of unrealistic expectations, created in part by his own rhetorical skills. That said, the fact that he has accomplished what he has with this Congress is nothing short of astonishing. From time to time, I have been as critical as any of his supporters, but taking a realistic look at his accomplishments, it's very impressive.

^^^^^^ This.
Obama has not done everything I hoped he could do, but just about everything I expected he could do.

One wonders the hue & cry that would have erupted had GWB done this.
Contrary to popular belief, Obama was not on the seal team that killed Bin Laden. It was a mistake picked up by what a courier said on the phone that led to him. A system put in place by GWB.
I commend Obama for Bin Laden (making the call to go in) & for getting to Daffy . I disagree with a lot of what GWB but unlike most here do not loath him.
Now the soldiers can come home and find themselves joing the army of the unemployed. By the way, Obama is pulling them all out as Iraq said no to keeping a small contingent because they would not give US soldiers immunity for crimes they might commit.

Yes Roxy. One wonders. If Bush had ended the war.Oh wait, BUSH IS THE IDIOT WHO STARTED THIS WAR IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!!!!! Roxy, your first statement trying to paint your buddy Bush as the victim shows how bias you really are.LOL!
FACT: Obama gave the order to KILL Bin Laden and WAS Commander in Chief. He watched over the plan that took months and months. He told no one and kept it secret. He was briefed daily on the plan months before Bin laden was killed. Like it or not, he was very involved. He did what Bush was too dumb to do.As much you Republicans HATE THE FACTS, there it is. Go ahead and rewrite history. Its what the GOP does nowadays.
Obama is keeping 160 troops in Iraq where they will be stationed at the US Embassy. (not combat)Iraq wants us out of there Roxy. Obama is just keeping his promise and cleaning up Bush's mess. You spinning it to make it look like anything else just shows how bitter and unfair you and your side is.

I agree completely with Roxy. I think it's terrible Obama is bringing home the troops where they worried every minute of every day about explosive devices ripping them to shreds or killing them. And for what? No jobs. HORRIBLE. Also, imagine the hue and cry if Bush had brought home the troops after Iraq had kicked them out and pointed out that Bush had signed an agreement that they would be gone by the end of the year. Oh, wait, that IS what happened and Obama is spinning it to make it look like it was his decision.
