Oh, is the ending different in the German version than the Disney movie version? I had no idea. Sweeeet.
But it IS a Victor Hugo story, and we all know how awesome his novels do when put on Broadway.

Remember that time we found out Drew was first u/s for Lestat and Hugh doesn't have a standby?
Apparently Hugh's been feeling under the weather recently...

I love you Hugh...but Yay!!
"I mean.. not only does Esmerelda die, but Quasimodo pretty much goes insane and kills the guy who "raised" him/killed Esmerelda."
So, leading lady killed by man. Boy admirer of leading lady goes insane and kills man who killed leading lady. Where have I heard this before?
*cough*Sweeney Todd*cough*
Bring Hunchback to Broadway!

Yeah, my friend who runs Jim's site said they were running lines with Drew today, so it seems like they're prepping him to go on. Could be pretty soon!!
Hahaha! THANKS FOR RUINING SWEENEY FOR ME. Christ on a cracker! :p

your welcome.
It's fits so perfectly though, and cracks me up.
One of you needs to go back and see Lestat soon! I'd love to hear awesome deatils of what it's like. I bet his "Sail Me Away" is incredible.

Posted: 5/4/06 at 2:42amSadly, I live in Nebraska, so seeing the show whenever I want isn't going to happen. If I lived in NYC, though, I'd be there at least once a week, I'm sure.

I saw Hunchback in Berlin and, believe me, it was INCREDIBLE!
And yes, it was very dark... but I guess that's what I liked about it *hugshunchbacksouvenirebrochure*

You wanna scan some pictures from it?
We would all love you for it!
#233re: Drew Sarich Love Thread!
Posted: 5/4/06 at 2:04pmI'll try... Don't know if I can get it on the scanner without damaging it.

I L.O.V.E. this picture. Thought I'd share. :)
Also this is an interesting interview. Turns out Hunchback was supposed to open in New York, but they opted to move it to Germany.

One more and Drew's biography...
I think "Hunchback" was such a wonderful production and closed FAR to early...

Oh my God, THANK YOU for these beautiful scans!! I'd seen some pictures from the show but nothing like that!
Those are just wonderful... wow.
I hope you didn't do any damage to your program.
Sad that it opted to move to Germany instead of opening here, but again, guess it was too dark.

No problem! It worked really well... No damage here! :)
If you're interested in some more pictures (not just Drew) I can scan some more tomorrow.
And I have to admit that I'm quite happy that it opened in Germany instead of the USA... otherwise I would have never had the chance to see it. *g*

Ooh! I'd love to see some more pictures. :) The whole show just looks beautiful.
Hahaha, well, of course you'd say that. At least we're finally getting to see Drew's talents over here in the US. Which is weird to say since he's FROM here and was only over in Europe for 6 years. But hey.. I'm not gonna complain.

Hey Guy, you don't happen to have a Barbarella program do you? I'm trying to find pictures of Drew as Sun (Master Locksmith is a bit freaky) but there aren't many that I can find.

No, sorry, don't have one.
And I only got the CD a few days ago so I'm not even very familiar with the show at all...

I wish. Not sure when my next trip to NYC is. Hopefully this summer. I wanted to go back at the beginning of June, but I don't know when I'm starting my new job yet, so I don't think I'll have the money by then.
#251re: Drew Sarich Love Thread!
Posted: 5/5/06 at 1:34amI don't even want to think back on how much I've spent in regards to trips to NYC. Just makes my head hurt. LOL

That's it! There are more pics in the brochure but they are too big to scan...
I hope you enjoyed the pictures... well, obviously you did. *g*
