DRE. THAT DRESS IS GORGEOUS. I love it.
Okay, glad it's gotten a positive response, was scared I'd be seen as an attention whore...well, I mean Nard already knows I am..
I'm glad I was able to bring us "closer." Honestly, I don't know how to explain, but there's hardly anything personal I have trouble sharing, I mean unless it's ppl I really don't like, but even complete strangers I have no issues telling these things too. I dunno, just kinda the way I am.
Hmm, I'm taking my sisters to Spelling Bee Saturday, maybe I'll leave a bit early and try to shop for a playbill frame..
Its Kerries birthday everybody look lively! And please direct your attention to the shiny new birthday thread on the board!

Happy Happy B-day!
(sorry not big on the gifs, prob seems simple comparitively...)
wrq, you know, in a weird way, I kind of wish I were you. My family came to America from a third world country, where they were poor and had to make life good with what little they had. And now that I'm growing older, my parents are trying so hard to make me understand how fortunate I am. Actually, my dad said, "I just wish that you could experience what suffering and hardship is like, because it'll only make you appreciate what life really is about." He grew up without a mother present and siblings to take care of. And, I see that you have experienced something like that, wrq. It's kinda like a blessing in disguise. I don't know if you're religious like I am, but, we are scolded by the ones who love us most. A parent punishes a child because they only want them to get better in the end. Happiness doesn't come without trouble first. A baby can't be brought into this world without a mother's painful labor. (i am sooo sorry for sounding...wierd! lol) Well, let me just say that I'm so proud that you've been able to cope with what you had to go through, and I can already see that you really appreciate the things and people in your life. I admire you even more, now that I know a little bit more about you. I'm glad that Broadway has been theraputic for you, because let me tell you, that's why it's there-to make people feel better. :)
Happy birthday Kerrie!
Here, have some cake.

LET'S HAVE A HUMONGO PARTAY!
Hmm...that was a great post too Jamie, and gets me thinking philisophically(I do that a lot). IS it perhaps better to go through rough times then never face anything too difficult? I'm really not sure. I mean you could really argue either side--you can use your argument, or I can come back and say there's nothing to complain about if you've never faced a huge difficulty.
Ah, nevermind, decided I agree with you. I actually wrote a story for creative writing in...11th grade which I suppose examined this thought. The story started with a sentence describing a miserable girl jumping off a bridge and committing suicide, and then there were these two gods who controlled how much happiness occurred in one's life and how much suffering, and that the suffering god went too far with the girl who committed suicide, so the happiness god got to pick someone who would never face any suffering, misery, etc. It was a short story so it could have been expanded but basically the upshot was she never had any hopes, any wants, she was barely human. She felt like everyone around her was robotic, she iddn't understand why she just got everything. finally she decided she wanted to experience pain and so she did...never having experienced a bit of pain in her life, she couldn't handle it, and the first sentence about the miserable girl committing suicide is repeated as the last sentence in the story.
Anyway, I guess part of what makes us human is having wants and suffering a bit. But you certainly shouldn't feel guilty that you haven't been through tough times!! Please don't go looking for them...your parents have a point, but perhaps it's being taken too far...I mean it's great to have a bit more appreciation for things in life, but one certainly wouldn't want to go around thinking of nothing but terrible things that happen to others, it would depress you. I mean my best friend's brother that I mentioned, obviously it made me think about my own situation, and as much as I love my friend and her family, it's not something I dwell on about all the time, you know?
I guess...I hate this b/c I was so determined to argue w/ my mom this point when I was depressed, but I know it's true...everything happens for a reason. Good things, bad things. The best thing to do is not overly dwell-obviously it's important to remember when bad things happen, but there's prob a reason bad things don't happen to.
Who else thinks it's not at all obvious that I want to be a psychologist?
haha the parties in here...https://forum.broadwayworld.com/readmessage.cfm?thread=864027&boardname=off&dt=081905011157
Although it is past 2 A.M, Kerries is asleep and if my partying sounds suspiciously like snoring, you can just ignore that, it just means i'm having a great time!...
