Okay so as you all know I was on vacation last week and we said some stange things. Well my mom started a thread about the things we said and one of the things was about John.
There is the link:

The quote about John is on the bottom but you should read the whole thread.

Getting back to confusion about John's college major, well, people STILL do that with actor Edward Norton.
Because he went to Yale and later became an actor, people assume that he went to the prestigious Yale School of Drama. I mean, YSoD along with Julliard, probably has more famous alumi than practically any drama program around.
But actually, Norton's undergraduate degree was in History. But many journalists who should be more careful, keep reporting an incorrect major when he's profiled.

Thanks WestEndWendy! Glad you liked them =]
Tennessee,I totally agree with you about journalists being more careful. It seems theres a carelessness when it comes to getting the facts straight.

Kathryn, I don't think I've seen any before. Which is a bit of a surprise if you ask me. He's too good to not have a fan site! I think it's great that you made one!
I love the choreography of JB so much. And Meryl what you said brings up a question I have. For those of you who have seen the show more than once, how would you compare subsequent visits to your first experience? Granted, things like cast members etc are different but do you enjoy the show more a second time?
I love the show each time I see it - it's always different. There's always wondering if someone's going to hit a note a certain way or something. And plus, I love seeing understudies, and JB has some fantastic ones :).
Kathryn that's great that you started a JLY fan site :).
Tennesee, I completely agree that journalists should be more careful. Especially these days, it's easy to unknowingly perpetuate misinformation because technology makes things more convenient.
That being said, in re: to John's studies I just found this stuff
From a media outlet in Plattsburgh:
PLATTSBURGH NATIVE WINS TONY AWARD
Plattsburgh is celebrating the success of native son John Lloyd Young, who won the Tony Award and then made a trip to the White House for a command performance.
.....
Young went on to study political science at Brown University in Rhode Island. Plattsburgh Mayor Dan Stewart honored Young with the key to the city after the Tony Award nominations were announced.

I suppose they're not exclusive categories; he studied both and got his degree in drama? What is equally interesting is what's under the Etc. Spanish, all those dialects, the Latin dancing....
Meryl, did you say you were studying dance, or did I get that wrong? What kind?

I am a complete Broadway World virgin...but found this as I was searching for some JLY fansites...and what can I say? I feel like I've come home! I live in London and have only got to see the show the once (so far!) but once was enough to fall head over heels.
Hi WestEnd Wendy!! :waves: It's great when new friends/posters join in on the fun. I'm glad you found us. When did you see JB? Everything about the show and the cast is AMAZING but was there a favorite part/scene or something in particular that stands out?
Speaking of fansites, Kathryn, that's fantastic! I'm glad you made one. And if I had magic powers, I'd find a way for you to see the show and John in person.

I thought John started out with a political science major but then changed it to Drama. I could be worng about it but it seems to make sense.

That would certainly explain why his High School classmates thought he was going to be a diplomat or politician.
And I'd love to hear John's Southern accent. I know he lived in Alabama briefly while growing up. I suppose all that moving to different regions helped him develop a good ear for accents.
I would love to hear JLY speak in all those accents! I've heard him speaking fluent Spanish to a woman at the stage door once - I believe he studied in Spain one year at Brown.
Thanks guys!
Here is th link for it if you want to check it out, I am not donw with it because I just out it up to day but I should be done with in a week or so.

Whats not to love about JLY? I'd love to hear him speak those accents as well. Gotta love guys with accents *raises eyebrows* He can speak fluent Spanish and do latin dancing? Ummm *blinks* where did all the boys like that go? Seriously. Singing and dancing is a definite plus in my book.
"Meryl, did you say you were studying dance, or did I get that wrong? What kind?"
I am indeed a dancer. I don't take lessons for anything specific at the moment, but I'm hoping to. I did ballet and jazz when I was younger, and took dance classes with my school which consisted of interpretive and modern. I know a little bit of ballroom/latin/disco hustle (knowing that JLY can do it maybe I should restart lessons HAHA) and since I'm Filipina, A LOT of line dancing. Besides all of that I can also do hip hop. I know, I know, Hip Hop? Turns out, good ol' smashing can bust some moves, that pop locking stuff too haha.
EDIT: I was looking through my pictures on my computer and look what I found...
The boys and Felicia Finley at the BWW anniversary party. How cute are they? I love Daniel's facial expression, he'd make a terrific model =P

Mine too. Masculine grace is very attractive. I love those old song and dance men. Think Gene Kelly, Donald O'Connor and Fred Astaire.
Btw, Daniel looks about 19 in that photo. The look is so deadpan and serious actor-like!
So smashing, do you want to be a professional dancer? Is Broadway your goal? With all that training, you sound like a choreographer in the making.
Btw, I love Felicia Finley.
Hey guys...last night at the stagedoor, someone asked John when he was finished with JB and he said his contract is up on October 1. He said though, that he "really, really, really hopes the producers renew him". So I guess, as long as they offer, he is gonna stay in JB for a while.
Just thought I would pass that one to ya.

When does the TV pilot season start for the 2007 fall TV season? Even if he renews, wouldn't he have to be free for that?
Thanks for the info NPG!
Thanks NPG! So it seems like all of the guys want to stay for at least a little bit longer (haha wow, the "Stay" just started playing in my head), but it's all up to whether or not the producers decide to extend their contracts. I agree, WestEndWendy...it would be crazy of them not to- they have such a good thing going!
tennessee...it's funny because someone asked him that exact same question. He doesn't have a show yet, he just has a deal. Meaning if ABC has a show and they think he would be good for it, they can fit him right in there. So, right now, that wouldn't be a problem.

I wonder how all those great understudies will feel if the four principals renew?
I think that MOST of them would be in line to replace them when they depart. At least, the director has hinted as much. Of course, there ARE the openings in the touring casts, the London cast, the Australian cast AND even a Dutch cast.
JLY has said that he MIGHT want to do the show in London. Yet I think he also wants to do TV and movies. And you have to strike while the iron is hot. There have got to be some timing conflicts along the the way. And timing is everything.
Just ask David Narona.
the Australian cast AND even a Dutch cast.
Where did you hear that?

I think I read it in an interview with Des McAnuff at Playbill.com.
I THINK it was Playbill.com. I've read so much on JB that all the stuff is running together.
