I just saw the pics from Brilliant Mistake and I'm so sad that I missed it. I try not to think about these events b/c I know I can't go to them. I think the event would be a cool one to have recorded--on Sh-K-Boom! What a great lineup and, of course, Norbert!
Such happy news about an official website! I can't wait! It's long overdue.
Alejandra- I don't have Looking For An Echo but it's on my wish list. So is The Confidence Man. I just bet he sounds great, what else would you expect from Norbert?!
I was watching the show tunes channel yesterday and Great Big Stuff came on and it made me so happy. lol It put me in a mood and I listened to DRS for the first time in a long time, it was great!
So this news about John's replacement made me really sad b/c now Stokes can't perform in DRS with Norbert. I was desperatley hoping it would happen but no.
Sorry this was so long but I haven't been around much lately and am making up for it.
Oh! And for those of you who don't live in the NY area and want to buy DRS stuff, it's now available on both broadwaynewyork.com and thebroadwaycollection.com. Just in case ya'll didn't know.

Broadway Betty! Where the hell have you been?!
Loved Norbert in that pinstripe suit....
Chrys! Ya know, I've been gathering nuts for the winter and such. I must say that your av makes me very happy. I've been thinking of little else since I saw Sweeney and am plotting in my wee little head how and when I can see it again. They played "Johanna" and "By The Sea" on the showtunes channel the other day. Made me so happy! I need the original and revival cds so bad right now, it's making me crazy. Do you know when they are recording it? And I'm sorry about Chitty.
I don't drink so Ragtime is soothing the pain I have from Stokes not replacing John. Btw, has anyone seen John's soup commercial? It almost looks like a DRS commercial with the music and dancing and sets and costumes but no sign of Norbert. lol
Oooooh, a Norbert related campaign to ensure I see him. I'm HONORED!
I'll be seeing DRS Sat, Nov 19th. 8:00 pm. Front Row Center.
This entire trip to New York was originally planned specifically to see Norbert in DRS so I am hoping that can still come to fruition.
I am not sure how much I plan to stage door while I am in the city being as how I feel kinda weird doing that now that I am in my late 20s, but meeting Norbert and possibly getting him to take a picture is something that'd make me very excited just because of the history. (The Rent Head story...la la la.)
If you have any mojo at all to ensure he's on, I'd be honored and very thankful if you used it.
You're seeing DRS on the 19th, eh? Are you also seeing a matinee? I just might bump into you b/c that's the day about 20 of us are getting together to see the Naked Girl matinee. Anyway, I hope Norbert is there for you on the 19th!
So, who has some Norbert mojo? lol
I'm heading back to NYC in January specifically to see Norbert in DRS one more time. Let's pray that he's in the show Friday, Jan. 20. I'm already sad that I'll miss John. My little heart couldn't handle it if Norbert's out.
I was thinking about getting tickets for John's last show--Is it January 8th?
You're seeing DRS on the 19th, eh? Are you also seeing a matinee?
Sadly, no. My flight gets in at JFK at around 3:00.
I have to hope there are no delays, get to the hotel, get checked in, hopefully have time to take a shower, get dressed and get to the theatre in 5 hours. If I go through ALL of that and don't get my Norbert fix, I'll be pissed.
Well I am seeing the show again tomorrow and I already have tickets to John's last show -Sun Jan 8th - Row B. I had to choose btwn seeing Shoshana's last in Wicked and John's last in DRS. Being that I have a lot of history with DRS, I chose John's last show. I will see Shoshana for the last time Jan 7th. Oh and Patronus, I will be in the city that night and I'd love to meet you. The NLB site should be up by then and you know we need your pic with Norbert to complete it.
..on Broadway.com, including some nice footage of Norbs doing a searing version of "The Judgement", which is an amazing Elvis song.
SirLiir, did you see the show last night?
Was gonna post about the video...
Patronus, good luck with the show! Couldn't imagine why Norbert wouldn't be in. But warning, I know from experience (have seen DRS 10 times) esp. after 2 shows he's understandably exhausted, will certainly make sure everyone gets an autograph, you can snap pics of him but I highly doubt he'll take pics w/ you (if so, you could be pleasantly surprised!) He'll probably be in a rush too, so...just prepare for that...if you want to say something, say it quickly, etc.
I too have tickets for John's last show Row A(second row) of center.
But newgirl, don't fret too much about missing John. He has been wonderful in the show and will be missed, but I am also excited about his replacement. though it hasn't been officially announced/released, I've been given permission to unofficially confirm that Jonathan Pryce will be replacing Lithgow, and I am very excited to see him in the role. He's a wonderful actor, singer and dancer and I could see him being fabulous in the role.
Yes wendy, my GF and I did and it was the best show yet. I wrote a mini review on the gjbara thread. Norbert and John together are gold. And he keeps adding something new to Freddy every time I have seen him.
On another topic, I am now hooked on Thou Shalt Not music. Norbert had some good songs in that one and after seeing it. I found that the show actually was not too bad. I just found Norbert's death scene to be way too realistic and violent. I am sure most people do not like seeing Norbert's neck snapped quite convincingly. His character Camielle and Debra Monk's Mama Raucent were the only likable people in the whole show. PM me for my full review or wait till the offical site is up for it.
Can't have this on page 2. Bump time!
I saw DRS again on Friday night as well!
That was the 10th time for me, so I now caught up with you once again Wickedrentq.
I am going to have to get tickets for John's last show soon. This was the first time in several months I saw both John and Norbert (the last two times I went one or the other was out.) and they are magic to watch on stage. The chemistry and sheer power of the two of them playing off of each other is a wonder to behold.
It was funny you were there Liir, where were you? What did you think of Norbert's "break" and John loosing it, when the "drummer was attacked".
I was in the left side balcony because we won the lotto (Two kids less than 10 were behind me lol). And the drummer was attacked? I was so far up that I think I missed it. All I heard was the Norbert comment and Greg mentioned it after. Did you see what happened?
I was joking about the drummer being attacked, something fell off of Norberts costume and John kicked it into the pit, it hit the frum and Norbert commented, "Is that drummer ok" John proceeded to crack up and Tom Gallantch went over and checked on him, on stage. (It all would have been almost directly below you.)
So that was you who the little boy kept putting his feet in the head of, I kept thinking "Poor Guy." I thought the one kid was going to spit in your girlfriend's hair, or fall off the box.
I was on the second row of the center Mezanine. It was nice to be in the middle again, I have been on the right front box the last three times I saw the show.
Ah! So that was what happened! Neat story. I saw Tom look down to check and then Norbert completely forgot his line. That was hilarious. And as for this children, they were actually well behaved. I and my GF were not bothered at all. We had a ball, a blast (and it was a shame it couldn't last).
That is good, I hoped they would be better during the show. They did have thier feet in your hair (almost) before it started though.
It is always such a Blast, a Ball, a shame it doesn't last. I sing that song all the way back to the subway every time I see the show.
Update on the NLB website:
The site is pretty much 100% done. I am simply tweaking a few things here and there. Just waiting for Norbert to reply (hurry up Norb!) and I will get it up and running. Needless to say, I am psyched. The site contains so much information about Norbert and his shows and I hope it will be the def Norbert Leo Butz source. Be ready soon, my co webmasters.

I am soooooooooo f*cking excited!
Yaay Penguin--it's nofe air though, I was gonna see it last Sat but I lost lotto and it wasn't on TKTS so essentially I had to pay full price my 11th time, couldn't do it.
Hmm, may try to see it this weekend if I don't take a trip to DC.
I can't go this week so you may move ahead, but I'm thinking of slipping in the night Patronus goes, so you had better try hard to move back a head. "Who is the Dirtiest Scoundrel?" "Only time will tell."
I am so excited about the website, do you have Norbert's Alabama Shakespeare credits on it Liir? (I saw Norbert there, many a year ago.)
sp78, that'd be great if you end up going the same night I go!
Actually Penguin to be perfectly honest, it's neither one of us. My 8th time at the stage door I talked to a woman who saw it 15 times.
P- I haven't decided yet, but it is so easy to try.
WRQ- I figured there were crazier ones out there, but I think we share the BWW record, and I have really fallen off by being out of town for three months of that time. My "percentage" of available times is very high.
ETA: WRQ wins.
