Hey y'all,

Broadway.com just updated its video features. There is a four-part series featuring soundbites from Tony nominees at the Tony Award reception last week. Norbert is included in all four clips, I think; Sherie is in two. Sutton, Marc Kudisch, Sara Ramirez, Christopher Seiber are also in the videos.

Where is Matt Morrison?! *sigh*

Theatremania has a video from the Drama Desk reception too. Norbert is in the video, about 5 minutes in.

Since I've got him on the mind, watch Matt Morrison's interview too. His facial expression b/f the interviewer starts talking to him is funny!

SP-Let's never forget Alejandra is the true clip queen, but thanks for the compliment!

I wanted to share something I read on another board--how about Greg Jbara as a replacement for John as Lawrence once he leaves? Fabulous voice, the salt and pepper hair make him look a little older than I'm sure he is and I think he could make the love triangle a little more believable. No offense to John.

I'm still wishing and praying that Brian Stokes Mitchell will play Lawrence. And if he did it with Norbert, I'd just die!

Alejandra just sent me the link to the GBS video/parody/commercial and it's hilarious! I love the sense of humor that everyone involved with this show has.

I just saw that as well, it is spectacular. They have the perfect tone in all the promotions and everything. The whole cast and creative team seems to be on the same page. It is awesome.

I think I'd cry if I heard him sing "love sneaks in". Maybe not cry but It'd be very special. His voice would add so much depth to the vocals in the show. Just thinking about it blows my mind! John is a comic genius but I'd really like to see what BSM could do with this role.

On another note, did you see the Tony Luncheon video clips--of course Norbs and Sherie were classic, but Christopher Sieber and Mario Cantone were hilarious.

Hey--Just read Idina is going to present at the Tonys---I have said before my dream is that Idina will present the Best Actor in a Musical Tony to you-know-who!!

I'm hoping to be able to catch them, but I have tapes that are being sent to me, just in case. I don't have to worry about hearing from outside, we get no news. Although I wish to find out as soon as possible when they are awarded!

Isn't that what they do at the Oscars? The best actor and actress winners present the award the following year. Sutton and John gave Harvey his 2 years ago but movie people handed out the two Tonys last year. I've been thinking about Idina handing the Tony to Norbert since I heard that DRS was coming to Bway this season.

SP-Does the lotto guy or the ushers know you by name? "Hello Mr.Penguin, your seat is right this way."

I would think that Stokes would like to return to the stage in a big musical. He's a leading man and this is a great role for him. I don't know why but he dropped out of the show. I really hope it happens.

Yes the lotto guy knows me, I often talk to him about how to drum up more support for the DRS lottery. I am pretty distinctive, I mean I think everyone in the place knows me by now.
Was BSM originally slated for Lawrence? I had never heard that.

BSM participated in an early reading, and I think Brian D'Arcy James even did a reading as Freddy (could be wrong on that one).

Denis O'Hare was the original Andre' but dropped out once Sweet Charity came along.

Sherie and Joanna were always part early incarnations, and if you look at the video clips from the Globe in San Diego,you can see Sherie is a little curvier from post-baby weight.

Speaking of former Rent stars, is anyone watching "Kevin Hill"? My gosh, I'd forgotten how AMAZING Taye Diggs is--he is beyond handsome.

Wayne Brady, on the other hand, or at least his character, is mega annoying.

Hey everyone!

Wendy: I saw "Kevin Hill" for the first time just last week. Wayne Brady's character scares me. Taye, on the other hand, is a darn near perfect specimen.

SP: Good luck with the lotto, you lucky penguin, you! :)

Regarding the Tonys, I really hope they don't have "movie people" hand out the awards this year. I think it's more special when it's given by an actual peer. And there is something very sweet about the winner from the previous year handing it off to the new winner. Here's hoping it's Idina handing off to Norbs!

I've been watching Kevin Hill. It's not my favorite favorite show, but I do enjoy it a lot. Mmmm, Taye. It was great to see Idina last week! :) And Kate Levering is in the cast; wasn't she in Thou Shalt Not?

Was Christina Ebersole ever involved in the DRS workshops? I remember seeing her name in re: to DRS for some reason.

BSM had very nice things to say about Norbert in an interview he gave earlier this year, when he explained why he couldn't take the role in DRS.

Hi Hedwig! *waves* Have you gotten your DRS cd yet? The limited edition one. I just got the official one yesterday. I love the picture of Norbert as Ruprecht! I think I want it as a poster. That face he makes is priceless!

I don't think there's anyone here who wouldn't loooove to see Idina give Norbert his Tony. And a big BOO to movie people at the Tonys.

Alejandra-Christine Ebersole does ring a bell...she'd be a great replacement when Joanna leaves, or Carolee Carmello.

So what did BSM say about Norbs and why he couldn;t take the role?

And Kate Levering...she is stunning, as pretty as the model she was representing last week. Yes, she was in Thou Shalt Not.

Oh, well. I had planned on buying it anyway. Hey, are you done with school for the summer now?

BTW: I think it was Alejandra who asked the "if we could see Norbs in any show" question. (Great question!) It would definitely be a toss-up between TLFY's and Cabaret. I think if I absolutely had to choose between the two of those it would be...ugh, so hard...maybe TLFY's. Today anyway. Tomorrow the answer may be different!
