I don't think there is a lot beyond our Norb from Eva Peron in Evita(High Flying Adored) to what I'd really like to see him in "Long Days Journey into Night" as Jamie. He'd just Be explosive.

So, I went to Blockbuster regarding L&O SVU to see the episode with Norbs and was told they expect to get the series soon--good news,but a little disappointed nonetheless.

I had to get my Norbs fix by watching the Tony awards again--noticed that Norbs and Michelle were sitting right behind Les Moonves (CBS President) and his wife Julie Chen.

There are pictures of Norbert and Michelle talking briefly, in passing, to Diane Sawyer on the red carpet.

I'm so happy that Matt is staying on Broadway with a new play but I'll still miss him in Piazza. I'm really looking forward to this play b/c I've heard good things about it and Richard Greenberg wrote it. He wrote my favorite play Take Me Out so I know this new one is going to be hilarious and having Matt in it is just a huge bonus.

As much as I would've loved to see Matt in Tarzan, singing in a loincloth, I think it would've taken him down a notch after Piazza. But he'll get major cred for doing a play. I can't wait! He's not going to get much rehearsal, though. His final perf in Piazza is Aug 28th and the first preview for "A Naked Girl..." is Sept 9th. You can't beat seeing one of your favorite performers in 2 different Broadway shows in 2 weeks time.

Welcome to the Norb thread! Surely you have more to say about our fave guy than that. Tell us about yourself. Have you seen Norbert perform live? Do you have his cast recordings?

Alright lets see.

Aside from the fact that I simply adore him? I've seen him in Wicked and DRS - and have both cast recordings...including recordings of his songs in Rent, Cabaret, and The Last Five Years.
I haven't, however, found time to do the whole stage door thing. I am most definately going to see DRS again and fully plan on it, though.

Uhhm...yeah. Missing anything?

You pretty much covered it all, lol. I wish there was a FNT recording of Cabaret with Norbert or a way to *see* it.

Well, if you look around you can find his recordings of Cabaret. A friend of mine helped me out with that because I was dying to have something of the sort. Its just a matter of research, I believe.

There are some recordings of Norb in Cabaret but the recording quality is not good doesn't catch Norb's abilities IMHO.

The small rectangular device that exists of him in Cabaret isn't a very good one so it probably wouldn't be too enjoyable to *look at*

Did you guys see the DRS actors' fund benefit performance photos on the home page? The only one of Norbert is with Christine Ebersole. She looks stunning! She's a great candidate to replace Joanna and Stokes was also there b/c he's the AF president. Oh, how I love the idea of him as Lawrence. I just know he was sniffing out JL's primo dressing room. :)

I've got nothing interesting to say but I couldn;t not check in on my Norbert buds since I was around.
Sounds like lots of good fun stuff I'm missing, but I'll be able to see Norbs again soon! Two more weeks and i'll be back!

I love the AV Betty. I hope to get the Fuzzels into some great new BW poses when I return.
I can not wait to be a full time contributer again myself, although I must actually do some school stuff next semester.

B'way betty--Christine Ebersole in Joanna's role would be great if and when she departs..I hope the cast stays around after Feb (well, we know Sherie is leaving), but if they don't I hope the replacement cast is solid.

IMO, this would be an awesome replacement cast:

Lawrence-Brian Stokes Mitchell
Freddy-Hunter Foster
Christine-Jennifer Laura Thompson
Muriel-Christine Ebersole
Andre-Denis O'Hare
Jolene-Sutton Foster!

Sutton might be wasted in such a small role but she could take it easy a bit in this smaller role while waiting for her next big star turn.

I want to see Norbert and Stokes on stage together just once. Pretty pretty please! With cherries and all that jazz.

I hope DRS is around for a while so we can see different interpretations of these characters. That being said, I hope that Hunter is the first replacement. Mwahhahahahaha! jk. :) Not! :)

I put on L5Y yesterday after a long time b/c I've been hooked on Piazza and Bee but I really missed it. You just can't beat a Norbert showtune!
