At this point, I look at Roseanne's comedy like others look at Alec Baldwin's sexy hair and separate them from the actual person.

Oh, nothing will not make ROSEANNE one of my favorite sitcoms, but still it's a downer.
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”

She's always been a bit mentally adrift.
"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter

Absolutely. She created one of the best shows in the history of television and as I've said a million times, we'll probably never again see anything come as close to being as realistic as that was.

To call Roseanne one of the Best Shows in the history of television you have to destroy the whole "We won the lottery" season and the "It's only a dream" plotline.

Joe, I forgive the show it's last season because while it was a total waste, it still has some very funny moments and it allowed for one of the greatest endings to any series ever.

I adore the first 7 seasons. There are a few episodes in the last two seasons that I like (Riot Grrrls), but it lost the cohesion that those 7 seasons brought.

I know I judge Rosanne unfairly. I am still bitter that they had ALL those writers and Johnny Galecki and they couldn't come up with one scene with him in his underwear?

I want to cuddle with Tom Arnold circa season 4.

She's been like this since she announced she was running for President of the US and Prime Minister of Israel. Some of her arguments make sense. She fit in nicely with the Green Party until they chose Dr. Jill Stein as their 2012 candidate. Then Roseanne really let her freak flag fly and doubled down on false flags and conspiracy theories.

There are no words for the admiration and enjoyment I still have watching "Roseanne." I recently watched the entire series from start to finish again. The first season through the fifth are outstanding. With each passing year after season five, the writing became less funny. Also, you can see Roseanne go from not knowing how to hit a mark in the first year, to really hitting her stride and delivering from seasons three to five. But once season six came around, she was just over it. She decided to park and bark. She had a few great episodes, but you can still tell she was ready to go. The paychecks from the network are what kept her going to a ninth season. Regarding that notorious final season: Yes, it is terrible. But there is some wonderful comedy sprinkled in here and there. Definitely worth another look, if for no better reason than to watch and listen to Roseanne's monologue in the final episode.

I'm sorry, but I think season 6 was one of the best seasons of the show.

Season 6 actually has one of my favorite moments in "A Stash from the Past", with the trio of Roseanne, Dan, and Jackie getting high. Such a classic moment on one of the best portrayals of middle America ever. It's one of the few shows I can't resist; anytime I see it while channel surfing, I have to watch.

Roseanne has always been nuts...this just proves what happens when you have nothing to do and already are teetering toward the edge.
That said, she was a genius and so was her sitcom. It is one that gets better with age, imo. And, she was right to stand up and demand her power, which made the show much better. The middle years are the best ones.
And yes, the final season is bizarre, but I still love the eps. where they go to the spa and hang out in NYC and the Vine-yard.
"A Stash From the Past" is one of the best written and acted episodes ever on television.
The episodes of the death of Roseanne's dad and Jackie's abuse were some of the best dramedy ever.

It's no surprise that her latest venture into television was titled Roseanne's Nuts.
