No wheat allergies, but These: sunflower seeds (deadly for me), most of the raw fruits and vegetables, many herbs like cilantro.
And sprouts.

Who knows? I meet other people once in a while who have the same problem. I know emcee and abba rabbit have several allergies also.

I was just curious, I was under the impression that to be ALLERGIC, the allergen must have protein in it...otherwise, it's a sensitivity--not that there's a whole lot of difference there...but I was wondering if there was something specific about the fruit and veggies that cause your reaction.

My coworker has an allergy to onions and tomatoes, and it's definitely an allergy, not a sensitivity. So, who knows.

The morning star always gets wonderful bright the minute before it has to go --doesn't it?

Tomatoes and onions do have trace amounts of protein...I guess most plants have at least a LITTLE.

Lildogs-it may have something to do with fiber. I can't even handle a bite of celery or carrot, or melons, etc. With sunflower seeds, I don't know what it is but I was warned about another dosage of it being even more dangerous than ever. One bite of a cookie that had the seeds as an ingredient had me in the OR for several hours.

It's funny, but I don't think I'm allergic to any protein.

Maybe encee or abba will weigh in here with more info.

I'm fascinated with this stuff--I deal with these issues ALL summer as a camp cook--and no, not a campy cook, though I am that too.

What I meant is that Oprah knows that she has power. It is inherent in her day to day life. What she does not stop to think about is what is the impact of her plugging something new every 3 weeks. The effects on the people she influences that do not have her resources.

Story of my life, namaste. I used to go to bed praying I would wake up without allergies. And with straight hair! LOL.

Back to the topic of Oprah. I was just thinking that if you have a personal chef who can make anything taste good, it's not that hard to be on a special diet.

Exactly Jane, if you have people making all your meals and someone who wakes your butt up every morning to workout and you are still heavy, then how can she even relate to the rest of the population about weight issues. :)Plus, people are like if Oprah cant do it with all those resources how can I?

I think the problem is that people turn to Oprah for anything.

Who the hell died and made Oprah Queen of the Know-It-Alls?

In fact, if it's on Oprah's show, I usually stay away from it.
