Okay Namo, you can stop your blasting the show. It wasn't perfect, but it was a friend. As a friend, I accepted it with its faults.
My Thursday nights always centered around the show. What will I possibly do tonight?
Hold a memorial service?

"It wasn't perfect, but it was a friend."
Um, Dollypop, you do know that it was a TV show and not a real person and therefore could not be a friend - at least not a friend like us rational people think of a friend.
Lifetime TV...it'll be like they never left.

Sit Shiva.
I love Lifetime. Between them and WB, there's 4 hours of Will and Grace every weeknight. :)

Eh. It's kind of sad, actually.
Whoever said that Will and Grace was a friend and then someone else said that it was only a TV show, not a person...that reminded me of that book Fahreinheit 451 when those ladies used to sit and watch TV and pretend they were having guests in the parlor and things like that.

Yenta, why do Jewish people sit and shiver when someone dies?
Broadway Legend Joined: 8/3/04
It is not shiver, but shiva. It comes from the Hebrew word meaning to sit. When the immediate family returns from the funeral they sit on low stools for a week to observe a mourning period. Friends and families prepare their meals for them and send them food. They also do not work so they can fully observe the mourning period. Sitting Shiva is suspended for the sabbath or holiday . It is also customary to visit those sitting shiva and hold services in the home so that they mourners can recite Kaddish, which is the prayer that sanctifies life.

So shall we sit shiva when bb692 gets banned on the 27th?

You know we had so much fun at Brendan Stryker's Memorial Service after he died, that we should start planning how we'll sit shiva when bb692 gets banned. I think it's a greater reason to rejoice.
Let's start planning NOW!

The shiva thread was deleted?
Yes, and all the food along with it.
If we're not careful this one'll go, too.

I went off to play Internet Scrabble and DollyPop gets another thread deleted. What am I going to do with 3 dozen bagels, 2 lbs of cream chese and lox?

Some of the food sounded delicious. To say nothing of Zoe Caldwell's proposed readings.
