It wouldn't surprise me a bit if the sheriff wasn't bribed in some way.
Only time will tell.

Posted: 6/8/07 at 2:51pmWhat I really don't understand is why people like Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan get DUI's at all? They are so filthy rich that surely they can take limo's everywhere? Half the time I think they do it for fun or for publicity.

Posted: 6/8/07 at 2:59pmworrell4077, I don't think she faked it. A spoiled rich princess like her probably was legitimately scared of even her special people jail (probably because it's the first legitimate punishment she's received in her whole life, but that's another issue). But EVERYONE going to jail for the first time is scared, so it's ridiculous that she's allowed to use her fear as an excuse to get out of it and eat bon-bons in her mansion, while everyone else in the world has to just suck it up and deal.

Yup. Per TMZ, she's to be sent back to jail immediately.
Physically dragged out of the courtroom screaming "It's not right!" and then "mom mom mom!"
She's to serve her entire 45 day sentence.
God, MSNBC is really desperate.

One witness described the scene as: Paris was "physically escorted" out of the courtroom by a female deputy.
I love the quotation marks. And "physically escorted" is obviously a euphemism for...

Maybe the sherriff who released her to begin with should be removed from his position. According to an article I just read on MSN, the judge had nothing to do with her early release.

Posted: 6/8/07 at 5:35pmyeah, it seems the sheriff decided that he's in charge of where she does her time, it's reported that he refused the judge's order to pick her up and bring her back. heard the judge held the sheriff's dept. in contempt (the legal kind) until they went and got paris and brought her to the courtroom.

Posted: 6/8/07 at 5:42pmSounds like the sherriff is in someone's back pocket, don't you think? What made him think that his decision to release her to home confinement (or in this case mansion confinement) would go over well?

Posted: 6/8/07 at 5:58pmmunk, i'm sure that would have nothing to do with what was clearly a principled decision over which the sheriff agonized. he was clearly exercising the kind of compassion that the l.a. county sheriff's dept. has made famous through the years.
