So we are clear,Perez Does Not Like It When Someone Lies about HIM!

I think people need to get over it now...

It started off as a bit of drama between douches, Perez got a taste of his own medicine, proved yet again that he's a major twat and the person who supposedly did the punching handed themselves in.

This whole attempt to boycott Perez from this, that and the other isn't going to do anything. Most people simply do not care enough and only go to his site for the gossip, not him. Worst case scenario is he loses out on his Teen Choice award nomination...or not be on the front page of some magazine, because his site will still be receiving millions upon millions of hits a day.

Yes him using 'faggot' was gross and it undermines so much...but come on, pick your battles. Do something useful with a petition. Like, uh, working on promoting civil rights?

but how can people respect and/or understand the wishes of those fighting for civil rights when a member of the group wanting civil rights uses the same words and actions as those against said civil rights? One bad apple, my friend!

'One bad apple' who very recently - for whatever reason - became the public face of that issue, and to many minds did it a disservice. If he were just anybody, I'd go along with ignoring it - but if jumping on him and getting him to at least crawl partially back under his rock, I say, "Go for it!"

I find it troubling that so many people have taken pleasure in the attack on Hilton. Is it now okay to commit battery because you don't like the person? Does that mean I can attack the bank teller who always gives me attitude? Hilton has shown himself to be a hypocrite and a weasel, but I find it troubling all the glee and the celebrities who say he was asking for it.

how exactly is what he did different than what hapens here daily?

seriously. how many times does someone here get called a closet case simply for spouting a dissenting view? how many times is accused of being gay as an insult? because someone thinks that the worst thing they can say is that someone is gay? like there is no worse insult, or that it even is an insult! how is what perez did any different? oooooo, he used the f-word. that's it? it's about that word? oh. ok. i'll bear that in mind the next time y'all go about painting someone you disagree with as gay.

Perez Hilton takes after his name sake.

He's known for not doing anything that takes talent.

Why he's a media darling is beyond me, he does NOT speak for me or any other gay person I know.

Maybe this will be the end of his 15 minutes.

Any celebrity that follows him around his a media whore. As long as their name is gettting out there, constantly, in your face, all of the time, you just might forget them because they don't have a movie coming out, or they do have something to promote. Everyone is in it for themselves.

The one thing that annoys me is that Perez continues to act like the victim. Physical violence is wrong; however, he purposely called Will.i.am a f*ggot and badgered him outside of a club. You can't go around stirring the pot.
Your latest 7in sounds obscene unless you spin it at a 45.

A Statement From Perez Hilton:

From the heart:

"Words can hurt. I know that very well, from both sides of the fence. The other night in Toronto, after feeling physically threatened by a verbally abusive Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas, I chose the most hurtful word I know to hurl at him. I was in an out-of-the ordinary situaton and used a word that I would not utter under normal circumstances. My intention - however misguided it may have been - was to stand up for myself and tell this belligerent man that I had enough of his badgering and was not going to continue to let him berate and intimidate me. I wanted to hurt him with the word I chose, not anyone else. Unfortunately, the one who got hurt was me and, subsequently, a lot of other people. I wish none of it had happened. I can't take it back. I did what I thought was best at the moment to stand up for myself in a non-violent yet still assertive way. Clearly, I am not homophobic. Also, I am not nor have I ever claimed to be a spokesperson for the gay community. I am just speaking for myself, a gay man. One who is labeled "flamboyant" in the media. An American that is not granted equal rights under the law. I will continue to speak out for equality and I will continue to say things that upset both gay people and straight people. Who I am as a person and what I do for a living are two separate things. I've come to terms with all my incongruities and am proud of who I am and what I do. In closing, words can hurt. But words should not provoke someone to violence. Stripped away from the mask of Perez Hilton, I have been extremely bothered by the public reaction to my assault. Violence should never be condoned with such statements as "It's Karma" or "I don't believe in violence but?.". In fact, several television and radio shows over the past couple of days echoed the sentiment "He had it coming". Would they have said the same thing if I was a woman? Would I have "deserved it" if I had been stabbed? Or shot? Or killed? I was attacked from behind without warning and repeatedly punched in the head in a cold, disgusting and unnecessarily violent manner by Polo Molina, the road manager for the Black Eyed Peas, who I did not even speak with that evening. I did not share any words with him and his assault on me was completely unprovoked. I feel like everything happens for a reason and I leave this traumatic experience as a person with more compassion. Specifically, there was an instance last year when actor Jesse Metcalfe was attacked outside of a Hollywood nightclub by a fellow entertainer. I did not condone the violence, but I did make light of that situation. I regret that. Sincerely. There are many ways to deal with disagreements, both good and bad, but violence is never the answer. Never. I now know that first-hand. It should not be condoned, promoted or accepted. No one "deserves" to be the victim of violence. No one "has it coming." NO ONE. And victims should not be ridiculed. I look forward to marching for equality in Washington, D.C. this October. And I look forward to standing up for my rights in a Toronto courtroom shortly, as I fully intend to seek every lawful remedy against the man that attacked me."

^ There's a lot that's wrong with this. The whole "spokesperson for the gay community" thing...if he never wanted that title, then he should stop outing celebrities on his page who aren't ready to come out of the closet, or who simply don't feel that their sexuality has anything to do with their jobs as singers/actors/etc. Perez knew there were a million paparazzi around with video cameras (not to mention regular civilians with video phones) and he still chose to call Will.i.am a "faggot" to provoke.

I notice there is also no apology from Perez towards Will.i.am, who he falsely accused of assaulting him.

If everything happens for a reason, does he take any responsibility for that reason? I am just dying to know why he didn't skip right ahead to the n word. He could have used the "I'm a man of color so I have experienced racism from both sides of the fence" (there's a fence?) excuse.

I'm sick of his face being all over the news. People will think that every gay person is a whiney beeyatch like him.
