I don't think anyone deserves to be physically assaulted, but it's SO hard to feel sorry for someone like Perez, who has become a millionaire from sitting in front of a computer all day and saying incredibly tasteless, mean, disgusting things about people. And I agree with several posters above who said it's a big turn-off when celebrities kiss up to him in order to get good press for themselves (Katy Perry, Lady GaGa, Margaret Cho).

Also, a gay person using the term "faggot" as a genuine insult meant to hurt someone's feelings is just disgusting. I feel a VERY small amount of sympathy for him only because he obviously has major issues with himself.

That is what he said really, 'I called him a faggot cus I knew it would piss him off' basically.

That, to me, totally undermines his 'victim' role in this. Yes he brought it upon himself and we all talk crap when we're really hot headed, but 'faggot', really? Why was that word even on the tip of his tongue?

Why not just slur out a bunch of swear words? Sure they're rude but being called a 'f*cking w*nker' isn't really that insulting, yet gets the point across that you're mad.


On another note, I do feel that the general distaste for Perez is going to distort the situation and allow Will.I.Am/his manager to get away with being thugs...which isn't right. Similar to Chris Brown not really being held accountable for hitting a woman, because he is Chris Brown.

The personal opinion on the parties involved undermines the actual situation.

I find it interesting that the buzz on this story is not that Perez got punched but him using the F word. Why is it OK for Perez to use it and not anyone else?I think Perez really has some mental issues. Very very emotional and seems to snap very easily.He went off on Fergie and I have no idea what she has to do with any of this drama.His cry baby stunt and everything is such a mess.Perez is another Glen Beck. He will do anything for attention.

I'm not so sure about that DG. Perez has been a guest on her round table a couple of times, so I'm not so sure that she would talk about it.............then again, she talks about Brett Michaels a lot, and he's been on the show too........but not on the round table. But who knows? Chelsea can do no wrong!

i have said it before and i will say it again...this man is a coward and a joke.
i have always felt him to be mean for no reason. last week when he printed photos of dustin lance black i thought he took it way to far.
as a gay man to use the word faggot to insult someone is a total slap in the face to gay people and the message of equality.

Perez Hilton is tasteless, mean spirited and vile. I think he's an embarrassment to the gay community. I say he got what he deserved. He's an attention whore who will use whatever means are available to him to keep his name in the media. The fact that he Tweeted that he was assaulted and needed the police rather than just calling the police himself is about the stupidest thing I have ever heard.

All that Perez Hilton **** nauseated my Monday. Forget about his turning assault into a plea for attention -- that's to be expected from someone who comes off like a Garbage Pail Kid translation of Madonna (as if there weren't one already). It's the "faggot" thing that bothers me. For all his complaining about being socked in the face, he shot himself in the foot before that even could happen. This fool, who's given a national platform for no particular reason beyond serendipity, goes and hurdles that word at another person as if it's something to be ashamed of. This, coming from someone who turned Carrie Prejean's worth-ignoring ignorance into would-be crusade for gay rights. This, coming after that crusade resulted in a showcase for his inarticulation and inability to win an argument with even a complete idiot who equated not welcoming girls to the Boy Scouts with not allowing gays to marry. That **** drove me crazy because he seemed oblivious to the obvious points (like something as basic as, hey, our values can change as a society as we learn more, particularly about the nature of homosexuality). I didn't write about it, nor have I written much about him in general (despite the very pronounced feeling of bile flooding into my mouth that he regularly produces), because if you say something disparaging about someone who has the same job as you and who's infinitely more successful (numbers-wise, I mean), you end up looking jealous, or at least of dubious motivation.

But I don't care about that at this point, because I couldn't be less jealous of him especially given the current circumstances. I just kind of want to throw up my hands (or in my hands) and call out this character, this persona, this online half-person for what it is: bad for the Internet, bad for gay people, bad for the world."

First of all, Perez criticizes OTHER people for having gayface? He has the gayest face that ever gayed.
