What's going to happen to the piano keys from Big and the dress that Lust wore in Seven? Can people grab them from the dumpster the day after closing, like some people do with set pieces after Broadway shows?
They'll probably auction them off to private collectors but there are a few pieces I would dumpster drive for. Corbin Bernson's uniform from Major League for starters.

I would cry if they closed my local Disney store!!!! Although I'm sure my Tinkerbell mug obsession is partly how they stay open! :)

yea, sadly my local mall Disney store closed awhile ago.
Mine closed 2 years ago.

You're probably safe. The stores were closed when the Disney Company took the retail stores back from Hoop Retail (aka Children's Store). Part of the deal between the two was that 1/3 of the stores close. Now that the dust has settled I don't think there will be any more closings. In fact, if I read between the lines of the article I'm posted I wouldn't be surprised if areas that lost their stores might get them back.

The one at my mall is still open, but it is more like the Tinkerbell/Hannah Montana store now. I like Tinkerbell, but there is more to Disney than just her.
I would be curious about how much the piano from Big would go for because you can buy it brand new at FAO Schwartz for $250,000 or some crazy amount like that.

Unless they are closing all Planet Hollywood restaurants across the country I would assume that the collection from the Times Square location will be divided up amongst the other locations, or even used to start a new one somewhere else.

I don't know why on Earth people think the props & costumes would be thrown away or sold!
All pieces are either on loan or owned by PH. PH cycles various pieces throughout their restaurant locations.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Truth is? I didn't know it ever had, and I'm in Times Square all the time.

At the risk of being a Debbie Downer.. you are all aware of the long horrific history of sweatshop labor issues with Forever 21, right?

I can't wait to visit the new Disney Store when it opens in Times Square. My mall still has a Disney Store but it sure isn't what it used to be.

Now that Disney actually owns the stores again I'm sure it's fine.

The Disney Outlet is one of the things I miss about NJ. It's at the Jackson Outlets and there are always some great deals. The regular Disney stores have some great clearance sales, too.
Pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f**ckin' perfect!

I think the new Disney store will be very similar to the World of Disney store. I think it's a good move, they'll get more tourists to come in that way.

Does not compute. :)
JG2 - I always go to the one in Woodbury Commons - got a lot of great stuff at great prices!
