It's truly a pathetic picture. But I guess I'm the only one who finds the real pathetic story in the number of young people who admire and look up to this girl.
I am no fan of Paris Hilton. To me she is nothing at all - a big zero. But she was interviewed before going into jail and she commented on 'her fans'. The sad truth is that she does have fans. Lots of them. And why? It's the fact that so many kids (and probably a few grown ups too) really do admire her that is the saddest part of this story. Her parents raised her without any sense of responsibility for her own actions and we recognize that when we comment on the special favors her riches have purchased for her. But what's the excuse of the non-rich who hold her in esteem? That so many parents out there have raised so many offspring with equally low standards is the real crime.

Mamie, the only people who admire her are the same people who admire Donald Trump: poor trash who thinks that the only real value in life is getting more more more.
Unfortunately, our current generation thinks monetary worth is how you rank success.

Quite a few girls were interviewed following this and they were outraged that she was 'being picked on for no reason'. People magazine (among others) sell extra copies when her face in on the cover. It just saddens me that this is as big a 'news item' as it is. If only a few white trash were interested the story would have died a long time ago.

What those young girls see is a pretty girl who's rich, goes to parties, wears designer clothes, knows fabulous people, and is famous.
They want to be like that too! No matter what their parents may teach them, at that age, peer pressure means much more to them than parental advice.
