According to an FX release, the story will take place amid the AIDS crisis in 1994, a few years after the events of season 2. “In the final season of ‘Pose,’ time flashes forward to 1994. Blanca struggles to balance being a mother, a present partner to her new love, and a nurse’s aide. Meanwhile, as AIDS becomes the leading cause of death for Americans ages 25 to 44, Pray Tell contends with unexpected health burdens.

I read the other day that there is going to be another version of Queer As Folk. As streaming services continue to grow and expand it seems there is even more of a need for queer content given that services like to appeal to everyone.

I loved the first episode. Beautifully done and I was a sobbing mess. Second episode was powerful too but I felt it was pushing a little hard on the addiction theme. However Pose has always done this with themes. This is one show that has stayed consistent in its themes and characters throughout. I wish it was getting a few more seasons.

I agree the Dominique has upped her game acting wise and is really doing great work. All of the acting is top notch. I will miss these characters. I haven’t cared for or liked any characters as much as these in a very long time.

I must have watched a different two first episodes than others did because this is exactly what Ryan Murphy does when he’s bored with a project. Lazy writing, awful developments with characters that come out of nowhere and exist only to be Murphy’s idea of dramatic. I loved this show for the first two seasons but man, it’s a shame it’s gonna go out like this.

For a bit I was kind of wondering where they were going. I then realized they jumped a few years and there was a lot that happened that we didn't see. I also wonder if they had to shift some things around since Ryan Jaamal Swain had to leave the show suddenly. From what I read it was a family matter. I have never found the writing to be super great but the performances this season, so far, are elevating it for me.

Bettyboy, I also got used to Dominique's style also. I actually miss it a bit but am really enjoying the change. Agreed about Billy. That was a bit much.

I just want to point out that according to IMDb, Murphy (who I have had issues with in the past on most of his projects although I often end up liking more than hating his projects in retrospect) neither directed nor wrote either of the first two episodes of Season 3.

I found episode 1 to be strong overall except for the ludicrous diner scene. I also was suspect of involving the OJ plot line, but at least it had the objective of bringing the gang back together. Lamar also is a cartoonishly drawn villain.

All that being said, I feel like episode two in particular was one of the best episodes of the series. The writing has never been exactly A-level, but it has progressed through the series. I’d say the same with the acting. Dominique owns every scene she’s in and Blanca (MJ Rodriguez) has really progressed in the acting department.

Despite its flaws, we will miss Pose when it’s gone so I plan to cherish the five remaining episodes.

I enjoyed it and loved Noma Dumezweni as her mother. Looks like we get Pray Tell's next week. And Norm Lewis!

That crossed my mind but I think they did a nice job with hair, makeup and costumes on all of them to pull the flashback off.

I just watched this short documentary about Dominique Jackson today. Very good. I don't have hulu but it popped up on YouTube. She is very open about her life and I didn't know she teaches or taught a class at Alvin Ailey. This made me love her even more!

Dominque as Mama Morton is probably the only way I’ll go back to Chicago, but I’d love to see her come to Broadway.

Morrible was the first role that came to my mind also. That and/or seeing Brittney Johnson as Glinda would get me back to see Wicked. I have actually seen it 3 times.
