Can you GUESS when Congress intervened?

We're required to use UPS at work for overnight packages (we have a lot of them), and they're the worst. You can pay for expedited shipping but nothing is guaranteed. When something goes wrong, they just make stuff up

Well, I've had a LOT of trouble with USPS, involving regular letter delivery as well as packages. I wish I didn' t have to deal with them at all.

How lucky for you! For me it's a nightmare. They have lost several of my letters, among them tax payments and other important stuff. I've had to pay $25 to stop payment on checks because of them. This forces you to use their special services. Instead of just depending on regular service to deliver your letter, you must pay a lot more than a stamp to insure it, or send it certified, etc.

Packages? HA! They either don't leave the package, pretending they rang your buzzer, or they leave it at the wrong address. I've even have nasty mailmen who feel they must lecture you.

UPS is certainly special in my area. I live up a really long driveway, so when it snows they don't want to come up. One package recently they took like a 3rd of the way up & put it in a plastic bag and attached it to the shovel my dad left in the snow there. They also lost a package of Mary Kay cosmetics my sister was selling and was supposed to give to people. She got the new package. Then one day somebody discovered the original box thrown in the snow by some trees, halfway up the driveway.

My other favorite story of UPS is from around Christmas. I was driving down the driveway and the driver must have seen me when he was at the neighbor's driveway. I pulled out on the street and he motioned for me to stop. He asked me if I lived at my address and asked me if he could just give me a package. I did say yes, but 1 box turned into 3 or 4.

Never had any of these issues with the postal service. Okay, right after Sandy I was disappointed with how long something was taking to get to me, but everything was backed up, so it was not their fault. At least it was a legitimate reason.

They really are bad. On more than one occasion, when it's getting late, I've seen my UPS delivery guy drive right past my apartment building. A few hours later, I would check on line and my package would be marked as "Delivery attempted". I didn't know that driving past my apartment building without stopping is considered an attempt.

Last month I had two packages from Amazon stolen. I called the USPS and they said the delivery person put them in the hall. I told them there was a reason we had locks on our mailboxes and that I didn't consider just putting it in the hall as delivering it to me because there was an apartment number on the address and it should have been delivered to my door. If I lived in the suburbs, they wouldn't just throw it on the lawn and call it delivered (or maybe they would?) Anyway I'm out $60 because Amazon says they shipped it and the USPS says they delivered it.

Then why on earth would you want that delivery person to perform open heart surgery on you?!?!
