Posted: 12/5/06 at 1:50amExactly. Saying something's "overrated" is easier than just saying "I don't like it". I understand the impulse, though--it's alienating when everyone seems to be raving over a film/play/book that you personally didn't care for, but you don't want to seem like a "hater"--or what used to be called a "killjoy."
I ask in all honesty/What would life be?/Without a song and a dance, what are we?/So I say "Thank you for the music/For giving it to me."
