Project Runway 5

Posted: 7/11/08 at 1:09pmOkay, so Project Runway 5 starts this coming Wed, but why hasn't Bravo shown a single clip from the show or put anything of value up on their website. Is there a reason for the secrecy?

Posted: 7/11/08 at 1:28pmWill it actually air on Bravo? I thought Lifetime was rumored to be carrying Project Runway, which could be why nothing is showing up on Bravo. As of Monday I will no longer have cable, so I'll be missing out. The cost of cable just goes up and up and there are only a couple of programs I watched anyway. I'll be saving $60/month.

There was an ad during Shear Genius this week for season 5, the last season on Bravo (and in NY for that matter). It's supposed to make the move to Lifetime (and LA) for season 6.
There's still a small chance it might not move networks though.

Here's to hoping that Bravo does keep it.

Posted: 7/11/08 at 1:43pmI jsut find it odd that Bravo, who promote the hell out of everything, are waiting until the day before to show anything from the show. Perhaps, since they are likely moving to Lifetime, things aren't exactly friendly between the show and the network at the moment.

Posted: 7/11/08 at 3:56pmI think I read that they are already casting for the sixth season to be broadcast on it's new channel, no longer Bravo.

I had heard something about it moving to Lifetime as well.
Just checked my guide and it looks like Bravo will be airing the past season in a marathon that day and then the new one will be on at 9.
YIPPEEE!

I'm really hoping Bravo keeps it and it doesn't move from NYC.
Project Runway on Lifetime, in Los Angeles? Laaaaaame.

Posted: 7/11/08 at 4:21pmWell are they going to transport the three finalists to NY for Fashion Week? Because if they skip fashion week it will SUCK.

Posted: 7/11/08 at 4:28pmGood point! I hope so! Since it's California, it would not be the same if they just moved it to some similar event there. But then again, I assume that in this switch, we will have to acclimate to some new things.

Posted: 7/11/08 at 4:31pmI agree. Showing the lines in LA has nowhere near the drama of showing in Bryant Park.

I am very much digging the marathon today :)
Can't wait for the new season!

Posted: 7/11/08 at 5:36pmIf they show during LA Fashion week, that indeed, would be lame and kind of defeating the purpose of the show. Are all the judges willing to go to LA with the show?

Nina and Heidi are definitely set to go with the show to Lifetime/LA. I'm not sure about Michael. I'm a little skeptical about the move to Lifetime as well, but Heidi made a good point in an interview (possibly the one with EW) when she said re: the move to LA something like "Well, the only places they ever go are the apartments, the workroom, and the fabric store, so they could practically do it on Mars without much of a change."
And yes, they're still going to New York fashion week.

Posted: 7/11/08 at 6:01pmI thought I had heard Nina might not be involved anymore since she lost her job at Elle. (that was the mag she worked for right?)

Posted: 7/11/08 at 6:09pmI had no idea she was fired from Elle! I love me some Nina.

Posted: 7/11/08 at 6:10pmElle is out, Marie Claire is in. In fact, there's speculation that Marie Claire hired Nina solely in order to get their foot in the door at PR. The Weinsteins are selling product placement spots to the highest bidder, including reportedly trying to get $8 MILLION for the haircare spot currently filled by Tresemme that Loreal is eyeing. We shall shee.

I worship Project Runway, but it peaked during season two, had a decent season three and has been slipping ever since. Christian Siriano was the only memorable contestant last season. That said, of course I'll still be watching, critiquing and bitching!
Doesn't it seem a little early for Runway 5? It seems like Christian just won!
