No Spoilers

This is once when I'm completely ok with the verdict. The winning designer's collection was both cohesive and potentially trend-setting. I was also pleasantly surprised by the runner up. The ladies brought it.

I can't help but think of how things could have turned out differently had either Laiyana or Samantha made the final cut.

I agree. I can't remember a season where the placing, 1-2-3, was so obvious.

The finale waas over a week ago. How long is the grace period for spoilers?

I was in total agreement with the placing also. Funny, they were about to get rid of Michelle and then she wins. Also, I'm so happy Patricia was in the finals, let alone runner-up!

I liked Patricia at the beginning but I started to really despise her (her, not her clothes) a the competition went on.

It was a pretty wonderful winning collection after a surprisingly dull and lackluster season. I expected a whole lot more drama, and maybe even a true successor to Wendy Pepper, to emerge after the whole teams announcement, and I was really let down on that front.

But yes, as soon as the final competitors started unpacking their stuff in NY during the Part 1 episode of the finale it was pretty clear who was going to win.

I'm with you, Jane. I can't think of any behavior Patricia exhibited that would lead me to think of her as nasty and mean. She wasn't my favorite designer (I liked Michael Kor's description of "the art teacher on an acid trip"), but she never struck me as a person to hate.

And I did really love that they brought Kors back for the finale. While it was nice getting some fresh opinions on the judging panel during the regular season it was also nice to have a touch of the snark back for the finale. I do hope Zach Posen is around for the next season though, since I found him adorable.

AEA - and Patricia, who was stuck not once but twice with that guy who made her life miserable, never caused any drama and just accepted it as her lot. She never complained and accepted criticism. I never wanted anyone to succeed on the show more than her. I sure hope she's gotten some work from being on the show.

I didn't like Patricia, but it was an essence thing..her whole vibe was just off putting for me. As a designer, while her stuff was creative, it didn't ever seem like clothes people would actually wear.

I really liked Michelle's collection...the only one I would even consider burchasing.

I enjoyed the season, but didn't love it.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Well done Michelle!

However, Patricia was my fave all season. I was fascinated by her ability to tap into her tribal heritage and to translate the cultural references into fashion that wasn't too literal to varying degrees of success. The one knock against her imho is that she tends to design for a woman with her shape as does the winner Michelle. But, Michelle pulls out a silhouette that flatters a size zero model.

From what little I know about fashion Stan's collection seemed so dated. I expected Joan Collins, Linda Evans, and Diahann Carroll to come down the catwalk in Alexis/Krystal/Dominque-mode. Same with Daniel's earlier showings. Daniel displayed a lot of heart all season but questionable taste at times. And Richard was clearly out of his league. After his elimination he nearly sucked the life force out of poor Patricia.

The one who eventually got on my last nerve was Laiyana. She came off as a pampered princess with entitlement issues. That said, I honestly believe that she would have delivered a more refreshing collection than Stanley at Fashion Week. And Samantha would have delivered some totally tricked-out garments that would have left us with our mouths open to this day.

I just had a sneaking suspicion that Stanley was going to underwhelm the judges which leads to my question. If the women design garments that they'd like to wear themselves for whom do the men design women's wear? On that note, I really wish PR would feature more men's wear challenges b/c the designers clearly could benefit from the training.

Haha, loaded question! My jaded answer is they design for hangers. In other words, models.

I like how this thread still put up spoiler alerts well after a week that it aired.

Unlike the thread that was put on the main board about Kyle, in SMASH dying before the episode was even half way finished airing on the east coast.
