Former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher passed away after suffering a stroke. She did so much for the British government even though people did not always agree with her views and policies. R.I.P. Margaret.

Posted: 4/8/13 at 11:32amEverybody's sad when somebody Meryl Street played dies. But at least she saved the Hawaiian idol from the Brady Americans and was more popular than The Partridge Family.

"She did so much for the British government even though people did not always agree with her beliefs."
Considering a few significant people died while disagreeing with her and that among the people who disagreed with her included South African anti-Apartheid forces and Nelson Mandela, it would be good of you to contextualize or reconsider the broadness of that statement.

As Ralph Wiggum said, "That's unpossible."

Posted: 4/8/13 at 12:11pmShe was a strong lady who stuck to her guns but many here in the UK don't remember her in a favourable light. Much of her time in office saw the rich get richer and the working class left behind. The miners incident saw many loose jobs and homes and lets not forget section 28. I'm sad she has passed and I'm sympathetic towards her loved ones she has left behind but I won't forget the damage that was done (inc to members of my own family).

Per Michelangelo Signorile:
The infamous Clause 28, enacted by Margaret Thatcher's government in 1988, stated that a local authority "shall not intentionally promote homosexuality or publish material with the intention of promoting homosexuality" or "promote the teaching in any maintained school of the acceptability of homosexuality as a pretended family relationship." It was 13 years before this wretched, homophobic law was repealed in all of Great Britain, in 2003.

Here in America, many of us will never forget her standing shoulder to shoulder with President Reagan, reminding the world that we are not simply carried along by the currents of history-we can shape them with moral conviction, unyielding courage and iron will." -President Obama on the death of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher

Exactly. The Deadly Duo constructed the era of selfishness and elitism from which neither of our cultures has recovered. He said trees cause pollution. She said Nelson Mandela was a terrorist.
Stupid is as stupid does.

No they didn't. Russia was collapsing but they didn't notice.
Thatcher let people die for her farcical invasion of the Faulklands while Reagan tried to talk her out of it. Your understanding of history lacks a the kind of perspective that perhaps only living through the era can bring.
