One of BWWs most beloved members lost his battle with cancer today.

Mark Goldweber, who posted as Glebb, was a bright and beautiful light in so many of our lives. He brought joy and fun and pure goodness to BWW through his merry and memorable posts. Always a happy word. Always a fun movie memory. Always a wealth of knowledge of the world of dance.

And he brought all that joy, fun, beauty, love and so much talent to those of us who were blessed to know him in 'real life'.

His was, truly, the kindest soul I've ever known.

I thank him for all of the beauty that he brought to our world. I thank him for his incredible friendship. And I will keep him in my heart forever.

There are so many memories... I hope those of you who knew him - on or off BWW - will share some.

Beautifully put, Addy.

I shared many dance photos with him from my father's days as a photographer and cameraman in NYC. Mark passed them on to fellow dancers. We "talked classic movies" quite a bit. He was a real gem of a guy, no question about it.

Mark was one of the kindest men I have ever had the chance to talk to. Always had positive things to say and knew how to put a smile on your face. I was lucky enough to run into him once by chance when we were both in the city at the same time and he was just as much a gentleman as I expected.

We love you Mark, and we'll always miss you!

I had the pleasure seeing Mark dance years before I met him in person at the last performance of Light in the Piazza. He was my "go to" guy for ballet questions. I'm so sorry to hear this.

All day I was thinking about him and Les Patineurs, in particular. Now I know why.

Just so sad. If anyone wants to check out Mark on film, he had a featured role in Robert Altman's The Company.

What a sweet, kind, talented, FUNNY and (dare I be the shallow one to mention?) HOT!!!

One of my first board crushes...

I am so saddened to hear of this news. I, too, would ask him questions about dance that my daughter would ask me. I was so excited when I saw him in the movie Company with Neve Campbell. What a loss. May he rest in peace.

Always enjoyed my interactions with Glebb on the board.

Seems appropriate that I just came across a thread he started a few years back about Aaron Copland while searching some old threads.

He made reference to how much he loved the last moments of the Appalachian Spring Suite.

Gosh, there just aren't words for what a kind, gentle, generous, wonderful man he was. We only met in person a few times, but I just adored him. One of the loveliest people you could ever hope to meet. I think we are all better for having known him. So sad to hear this.

Enough F*ing bad news today. Just found out that one of my son's classmates lost her battle as well. She was 26 also a beautiful person inside and out.
Glebb you were and still are loved very much. You will be greatly missed.
