How is it that it gets better every week?

I can't remember beyond the past four amazing endings but the last four have been outrageous.

re: rome

This show DOES get better every week.

Just to make sure I got it -- Atia DID have Glabius killed, and now it's her men who attacked Servilia, right? Eirene is that girl who Pullo saved off the wagon from like the second episode, right? There was so much in this episode this week that reflects back to previous episodes, I'm doing my best to keep everything straight!
I think Octavia is going to kill herself long before we see Ceaser's death. Since there's going to be a next season, I'm wondering if we even will see that this year. At this point it doesn't seem like Brutus is doing all that much scheming - and if I remember my Shakespeare - weren't some of the senators who killed themselves in the past week or two involved in Ceaser's murder? We haven't met Cassius yet, I don't think, either, which is a good indication that Ceaser's murder is still a ways off.

All I kept thinking during "THAT" scene was "Oh my God, it's worse than Shannon and Boone!"

re: rome

I don't trust Atia one bit and I believe she will stop at nothing to enhance her power.

Octavia will live long enough to be married off to Mark Antony by her young brother Octavian who will become the greatest Ceasar of them all.

Ok, seeing it again showed me that Atia's servant (who sleeps with her) is not happy of her treatment of Servilia.

re: rome

Okay - wanting to add my two penn'orth and bump the thread while trying desperately to avoid spoilers. We got the first episode here on BBC2 this week. Great opening episode - 'Dynasty' with spears. Atia - fab...lovely taste in lines - talked of bringing Ocatavian back safely or 'I'll use the eyes of your children for beads'. Hope there's more where that came from. 'Hottest' title running close at the moment between Brutus (Tobias Menzies), Lucius (Kevin McKidd) and Mark Antony (Purefoy). If THAT pic I saw of Purefoy is anything to go by, he may win it by a nose - or something. Glad to read jasonf's comment that it gets even better. Can't wait. Forgot the exact number of complaints received by BBC - but no surprises for why. Bring it on.

re: rome

Wow - Rome was AWESOME this week!!!

This show really did get better and better as it went on, and I don't think this Sunday's will be any exception.

I admit -- I love action movies - and MAN, that fight in the arena was INCREDIBLE. When Pullo sliced that guy's head off...that was classic! And I have to say, I was cheering for Vorenus when he came out to save Titus.

I'm definitely going to miss this show after next week!

re: rome

I loved last week's conversation between Atia and Servilia about the going to the Triumph. The timing was too funny.
I'm so in love with Servilia and Octavia (and Octavian.) :)

re: rome

The fight scene was indeed unbelievable - the recapper on Television Without Pity noted that it made Gladiator look like a middle-school play!

Also, based on pattifan2's post above, if this show is airing uncensored on BBC2 (which I assume is a regular network channel in the U.K.), that's incredible - I wish our networks were nearly that permissive.
