How many of you guys have watched her little screamfest? I caught two episodes, and I'm amazed. She's hyperactive, loud, obnoxious, and just...weird to me. I am very curious as to other people's thoughts of how this show is going and how long you think it will last. So far, most of what I heard isn't positive, at all, but I can't really gauge the typical public response.
So how much longer do you think it will be until Rachael Raytard is banished back to the Food Network for good?
I read somewhere that her numbers were somewhat good, but I just caught a commercial of her show this morning, and my first reaction was WTF! She was literally yelling, "and on today's show, MICHAEL BOLTON...."
I loathe her, so I won't be tuning in anytime soon.
If you google her name, it will list websites that devote themselves to their lack of love for her (and that's being nice).
Michael Bolton? Well there's a match made in Heaven...
If you go to LiveJournal and look up the username "raycaps" it'll come up with the community I started recapping her show 30 Minute Meals. I haven't done a recap in awhile, but I have a few shows up on there.
The Food Channel would be nothing without her...
Which is sad.
Between her and Paula Dean, I don't know who's worse. I don't tune into the Food Network much anymore, because everytime I do, either one of them is usually on.
I LOVE "30 Minute Meals." Paula Dean, on the other hand . . . BLAH!
From the moment I first saw this woman, she really rubbed me the wrong way.
I wasn't surprised at ALL when I heard she's a hardcore phony.
I heard the same thing, Broadway. Apparently she's a total bitch in real life.
I'm sure she wasn't like that early on. You can see a definite change in her from her early shows to the most current. I was able to tolerate her then, but the more famous she got, the BIGGER her personality got. I mean, tone it down, beyotch!
At least Paula kinda cooks. Ray-Ray just opens cans and bags and heats it up. I really liked her show on TFN at first, but after a few episodes, it was just more of the same. TFN is so low-brow now, it's hard to find a program that isn't geared toward the novice cook who can't get good ingredients.
Heehee, lildogs, did you just clal her Ray-Ray? Are you familiar with the Rachael Ray Rebellion, by any chance? Becuase I'm a member of a lot of Ray-hating communities and that's a common nickname for her...

Everyone knows Ray is the Lupone of cooking shows. lol
Why do you hate her so much? Besides the fact that she is annoying, what else brings you to start stuff to bash someone?
Just curious!
Cheez-
How can you put RR and LaPone in the same sentance?
Well, if the rumors are true about Rachel Ray, then they are both stuck up bizatches!
Well, one reason is I'm really sick of seeing people with no talent getting everything they want when there are so many much more talented people out there that have to struggle to get by. I'm sixteen and I'm more inventive with my dishes than Rachael Ray is, and they taste better as well. I know becuase I own one of her cookbooks. I used to be a fan of hers before I found out that not only are here dishes not that good, they have no vairety and most of the time they take ddouble the promised 30 minutes to prepare. There are a bunch of other more talented cooks on The Food Network, and even more talented cooks who are struggling to get shows or even get JOBS, and they don't get nearly her recognition.
Patti is NOT stuck up, or a beatch.
And I'm sure she can cook rings around RR
Iheart, part of the equation is based on personality, not necessarily talent. That's my main complaint with Paula Dean, too. Her personality just keeps getting bigger and bigger, along with the exaggerated southern accent. So what do they do, they give her another cooking show!

So - you have tasted her cooking to know yours is better? Maybe being you are sixteen you should pitch an idea to Nicalodean for a teen cooking show. You never know till you make some noise - outside of a web board I mean.
Diva - I did not mean that at all - and I would watch Patti cook rings around that Giada any day.
Honestly, I have never met the woman, so she might be the sweetest person ever . . . but the persona she gives off in interviews (have you SEEN the "excerpt" of the next GOLDEN AGE film)is one of a stuck up bizatch!
The thing with Paula Dean, is that with me living in the south, I hear southern women talk all the time, and I really believe that it is a VERY exagerated accent to make her seem more like a "southern bell." Plus, she is really annoying!
Every time I've seen her, she's been as nice as could be. Even when someone called her a "Crazy Conneticut Housewife"...
Again, she might be the sweetest person ever . . . I am just saying what I believe she makes herself out to be in interviews.

But Dottie - Paula's personality is at least genuine - and she does own two well recieved restaraunts. That at least says something more to me about her. The restaraunts were there way before the TV show.
I've said this before, but, Paula Dean cackles so much, I'm just waiting for her to lay an egg one of these days.
