Love Paula Deen, abominate Rachel Ray.
Ina took sliced goat cheese, dipped it in egg, in bread crumbs and then lightly fried it. She served it on top of mixed greens tossed in a light dressing. I make that all the time. SO TUMMY!!!
And that was "yummy!" not "yum-o!" which makes me sick.
Actually, it's tummy, instead of tum-o!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
I've gone blind.
She was here in Denver earlier in the year to do a segment at a restaurant and I did not hear good things about her behavior with the staff or the owner of the establihment. People who were there came away saying that she was extremely rude and that they would never watch her again. And they were very excited about it until after she arrived.

I know someone that was in a commercial with Rachel Ray...however Rachel wasn't famous at that point so my friend didn't know who she was.
I liked Rachel in the beginning, then she just got incredibly annoying.
Ahhh, yes. That is the spoon-licking picture of which I speak. painful, isn't it?
I think that there are FN hosts I'd give talk shows before Rachael Ray. Even Paula could handle a mainstream chatfest better.
I'm not convinced that's HER body in those pics--they look awfully, well, awful. Like an airbrushed t-shirt at a white-trash mall kiosk.
i cannot stand this woman... i watch the food network for real chefs not for cheap reciped makers... and must she be so shrill all the time? I would love to see Bobby Flay do a throwdown against her (except she really doesn't have a specialty)
Puhlease, the girl doesn't even have knife skills, yet there's a brand of knives out there with her name on them. Go figure.
Not only are her knife skills terribly, but I've read reviews of the brand of knives and apparently they're of terrible quality, even though they're terribley expensive.
how did she even get to be where she is? did she even go to culinary school?
Torch, a throw-down with Ray-Ray and Flay wouldn't be much of a contest. His amuse alone would knock her entire menu out of the water. She's just a notch above Sandra Lee when it comes to culinary acumen.
lildogs... i know, i think it would just be amusing to see her completely embarrassed
I believe she started out in the food department of Macy's. She also did cooking demonstrations in an upscale food store somewhere in NY state (hence, 30 minute meals). One thing lead to another, and voila, a Food Network star was spawned. Though she makes no bones about not being formally trained.

Didn't that photo spread do the trick?
Though I am no expert on accents, doesn't hers sound more Wisconsin than upstate? Perhaps the two are similar. I heep waiting for a "dohnchano!" to come out of her.
(Yes, 30 minute meals is on. She just said EVOOExtravirginoliveoil. UGH. Yet I am watching. I am THAT bored.)
JerseyGirl... a TON of people i know from Upstate New York sound like they are from the midwest... i really don't understand it at all... but then again people upstate are Red Sox fans and i don't get that either

Haha.
I'm completely sick of Rachel Ray. Just hearing her voice makes me want to jump out of a window.

i hate that this little turd of a nothing has wormed her way into popular culture so much that i even HAVE an opinion about her.
& those photos...ICK.
& not just ICK...FAKE ICK.
I love her. She's sassy and I like that in a girl!
Phantom2--I think you and I are the only ones that like her. Go us!!

One of the things about her Food Network show that really bothers me is the vastness of the set. It seems as though she's always racing from the fridge to the pantry and then to the cooking island. Of course, as she does this her jugs jigger like crazy. My son absolutely loves it!
Maybe that's her appeal: to heterosexual men.
