C, send her one.
We are in your face parents which means we know everything about their lives, but also participate in all aspects whether it be their friends, hobbies, sports, etc.
We are also friends with all of thier friend's parents!

We have a code red!!!!!! I hate my hair! My hair is ugly!
This young child has the most beautiful hair, but tomorrow is the last day of school and her mother did not put the curlers in right! Help!

Posted: 6/2/06 at 12:26amLOL! Take her to the salon first thing in the morning. Better yet, call a personal stylist to come to the house so C13 won't have to go out in public.

L, she was online looking for a late night salon.
I could call our stylist, but I think she will be fine in the morning!

lol
Tell C13 that she is very lucky for what she does have and she needs to get over that her hair won't be perfect...nor will life.
Sorry, that was a bit harsh.

So, brdlwyr- is that you in your avatar then?
Serenity Prayer: Amusing version
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I cannot accept,
and the wisdom to hide the bodies of those people I had
to kill today because they pissed me off.
And also, help me to be careful of the toes I step on
today as they be connected to the ass that I may have
to kiss tomorrow.
Help me to always give 100% at work...
12% on Monday.
23% on Tuesday.
40% on Wednesday.
20% on Thursday.
5% on Friday.
And help me to remember...
When I'm having a really bad day,
and it seems that people are trying to piss me off,
that it takes 42 muscles to frown and only 4...
to extend my middle finger and tell them to bite me!
Amen.

I'm sure once she settles in, school won't be too much of a problem. Especially when she gets back w/ her friends or makes new friends. & discovers boys :P Just remind her that the transition is hard from relaxation to work. Just ease her into it
What grade is she in?

Posted: 8/22/06 at 12:23amShe is in 7th! She has not shown us any interest in boys! One step at a time!
#142re: Raising Tween Girls, HELP!
Posted: 8/22/06 at 12:33amHaha, at that age all you're worried about is friends & cliques. Unless you're lucky with a daughter who is really secure about herself.

She has not SHOWN interest in boys...but by that age it is probably there. At least a little.
Just remind her about the things she likes about school...that helped me at that age. Also the things that will stay the same.
It seems like so far yo uare being a VERY good parent.

Ahhh - back to school time! My six-year-old niece is pouting because this year she must wear a uniform to school. Her mother is on cloud nine - reduced laundry!
Niece wants to wear jeans and flip flops to school instead.

I have two girls...10 and 15. Middle school is a nightmare...probably the worst of it. It's the hormone thing. OTOH...just wait until she gets to HS and has friends that DRIVE. OY!
I have found that massive amounts of wine (for me, not her) helps to ease the anxiety.

Good morning Brd! (at least I hope it's a good morning - with kids, you never know)
Keep telling yourself, "In 24 hours this is going to be a completely different scene."
Because it WILL be.

Many rough days and evenings here over the last month. One minute its sweetie, next minute the head spins around and Damien arrives! Sigh!
