The thread about Renee Zellwegger remaking Cabaret got me to thinking. Why doesn't she remake one of Marilyn Monroe's pictures? She could do Bus Stop.

If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

Wow Beaver, isn't that a little harsh? Renee looked starved in Chicago and she looked healthy in Bridget Jones. Sure by Hollywood standards she was fat, but Hollywood standards are not real world standards. Could you imagine living your life in the public eye having everyone and their brother talk about the size of your aSs?

But by you saying those things- As what...the bus? Two words for Renee - Jenny Craig. you are helping to perpetuate the cycle. If you were so horrified by what occured at that shoot then how is it so easy for you to make such comments?

I'm not pointing fingers or trying to start an argument, I'm just trying to understand.

I have no issue with her body, it's her face that I find disturbing.

Marilyn Monroe was size 10 or 12.

And, Renee has an Oscar. :P

I agree with you on that- stage is a much more forgiving medium. I do not think that Renee could pull off Sally, but I really don't foresee her being cast as Sally Bowles. Catherine Zeta Jones would be a much better pick, as was stated earlier.

I think that Liza and Joel were amazing, but the movie left me uninterested and uninvolved in the story. For me the film was just "there". I wouldn't mind seeing a remake, but the cast needs to be carefully chosen.

CM2 - 'disturbing' is an interesting choice of word.

Wait a minute! So there is talk about a remake of Cabaret? This is news to me! If they do re-make it, I hope they go off the script and include Scheinder, Kost, Ludwig and Schultz!

I'm reading the original Berlin Stories at the moment, and as much as I love Liza and the original film, the is room for someone to portray Sally as an abrasive and fragile Brit. Zeta-Jones would be interesting, but someone with a bit more desperation.

re: Renee Z.

Mandy Moore would be an interesting Cherie.
