Is in the works. For me, Adam Lambert's the only choice for Frank, and he is up for it.

Crossing my fingers!

it's a definite plan. Not a bad idea, since I understand attendance is down at the midnight showings. The film needs a B12 to spark new interest.

Hasn't a film remake been in the works for a while?

The announcement for this was made in April 2015 so I don't know if that's considered a while or not.

My first thought was, "No!!!!!" but since Jane2 is in, I am in. I will follow her lead on all things RHPS.

Pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f**ckin' perfect!

haha, thanks JG, and here's why I'm in. I'm friends with a guy whose career has been working with  20th Cent. Fox with the film since day one, and his sister, who is as invested in it as her brother. If there were any people whose hearts and souls were tied to the original RHPS, it's them. They're ok with it, so I am too, because it could actually be good for the original.

I'm not sure what I think of this. Actually, Rocky Horror is a pretty crappy film. It just struck a chord at a certain time and place and became a cult classic. I don't know if a remake would ever have the same impact.

Yeah, it looks like Marilyn Manson was approached to star in a remake as far back as 2006. And Ryan Murphy was said to be attached to a remake in 2010. I assume it's been in and out of production hell for at least ten years, then.

yeah, well, ten years ago the plan was to celebrate the 30th anniversary and it never materialized. Now it's the 40th anniv. so let's see what happens.

Forget the movie remake. I want a TV series. Something really gonzo, playing fast and loose with the continuity. Brad and Janet live in Denton which is weird but normative. Just outside the city, the Transylvanians have their weird castle, which is weird but liberated. Weird stuff goes down between the two worlds on a weekly basis. Sometimes Frank gets killed or Brad gets Janet's genitals in a Fly experiment gone hideously wrong. Every week continuity resets completely so that nothing is ever off limits or impossible. Throw in a new song by Richard O'Brien every episode and it's all good.

Think half Rick and Morty, half Muppet Show.

Me too. I can't even think of a cable station that would air it, though.

If you can't get it on Adjlt Swim, it probably wouldn't fly anywhere else...

How about this for a voice cast?

Frank: Tim Minchin

Brad/Farley/Others: Neil Patrick Harris

Janet/Others: Rachel MacFarlane

Riff/Others: Bill Hader (while I'd love to have Richard back, I get the sense he's not available.)

Magenta/Others: Amanda Palmer

Columbia/Others: Tara Strong

Narrator: Patrick Stewart

Plus plenty of cameos

Adult Swim? No way. Not going to happen. I could definitely see a network like IFC picking it up, though...

Farley is from Shock Treatment.

He's Brad's evil twin.

In my head canon for "The Rocky Horror Show Show," Frank has rigged Eddie, along with several of his former consort and victims, with animatronics and every so often activates them like Chuck E Cheese statues for musical numbers. I think I saw the Cee-Lo/Rockafire crossover and internalized the idea. So you could probably get a singer for the role, if not an actor: maybe Jack Black, who certainly loves to do singing voiceovers for shows.

As for Rocky, I go back and forth between him as a spoken and as a mostly-mute character on television. He would probably be more of a cameo than anything, just one of Frank's experiments that didn't turn out QUITE right.

I changed my mind- Tara Strong can do Magenta- Amanda Palmer would be fun but I don't think she's that variable of an actress. And for Columbia, Yael Stone of "Orange is the New Black."

FRANK: "It's only a simple body transferrence, Brad. What's the worst that could happen?"

BRAD: (glasses pull) "What's the worst that could happen? God dammit, don't you remember when you built that sex android? Everyone was killed and the house blew up! Have you forgotten already?"

FRANK: (after a beat) "Yes. Throw Lever One, Columbia!"

(Columbia's hand hovers over a lever marked "Lever One.")

COLUMBIA: "Throwing Lever One, boss!"

FRANK: "Throw Lever Two, Magenta!"

(Magenta's hand hovers over a lever marked "Lever Two.")

MAGENTA: (to herself, mocking) "Throw Lever Two, Magenta."

FRANK: "Throw Lever Three, Riff Raff!"

(Riff's hand hovers over a lever marked "Lever Three," before moving to a different lever, marked in gothic typescript "F*CK SH*T UP.")

RIFF: "Hmm..."

Yes! I love this concept! So much better than just going ahead and remaking something that's already been done.

Would Richard O'Brien get a fairer share of the profits from any re-make?

If it lines his pockets as some sort of redress for past injustices, I guess I'm for it.
