Ryan frickin' Seacrest

I am very dissappointed in E! for installing Ryan Seacreast as their daily e! news person, and for allowing him to disgrace the red carpet at the different awards pre-shows. I cannot stand the man. He acts so arrogant, would plug American Idol while talking to celebs on the red carpet, or just downright insult them (as he did to Jamie Lee Curtis). Watching him attempt to boost his masculinity (or at least convince himself) is pretty funny (he usually would do this after Issac had done something only a gay guy can get away with). Whoever thought hiring him would bring E!'s rating up...bad, bad idea. It made me want to change the channel.

I don't care that they hired him for E!, I just hate that they made a HUGE deal about it. Commercials every 5 minutes for his "arrival" and sh**. At least Kathy Griffin has a year's worth of new material regarding her being replaced by that talentless Ken doll.

I actually don't have a problem with people irrationally hating him. There are many that I irrationally hate.

I just don't get the 'joke' aspect. He is a television/music personality, much like Dick Clark. That's his talent. And I think he does it well (though he does irritate the f*ck out of me...but that's just my baggage). I just don't find him to be a joke in the way, say, Tom Cruise is a joke. Seacrest ain't prescribing medical advice and he's not purporting to be a talented actor. He seems to know his place and purpose in the entertainment industry and does that well...and happens to get paid mightily for it.

Good to see ya Robbie. I"m trying to think of why he's a joke. I think it's because everywhere I go, people are laughing at him, whether it's at work, or on line, or on tv-they're always making fun of him. I don't care that much though, it's just idle gossiping.

I was giving this some thought. I don't think Seacrest has what Dick Clark did. I just don't see much of a personality nor anything else to warrant the big bucks. Obviously many others do, though.
