Jeanine seems to be close to Evan's size, I think. When they announced the pairs would be changing partners, did anyone else think Jeanine must have heaved a HUGE sigh of relief? She's had the Herculean task of being in Philip's shadow given his enormous popularity, his familiarity of being fast-tracked in the auditions from last season, plus having to carry him as he is so terribly weak in all the other styles.
And put me in the Mia fan camp. I enjoy her critiques much more than hearing the worthless blather than fell out of Tyce's mouth. And both of Mia's pieces (Addiction dance and Butt dance) have been my favorites of the season thus far.
I let out a HUGE sigh of relief when I saw that Tyce was judging. Not because I like hearing him talk but because I wouldn't have to sit through another of his amateur "Broadway" routines. However, after last night, I'd rather he just disappear off the show altogether. He has NOTHING useful to say. Zero. But I digress...
My favorites of the night were Kupono and Kayla's contemporary (it was absolutely breathtaking and powerful), Brandon and Jeanette's jazz (traditional brilliant Wade choreo danced to absolute perfection), and also their Argentine Tango (hot hot hottttttttttt and FLAWLESS). Those are two of my top three couples, followed close behind be Melissa and Ade. It's going to be tragic to see their partnerships broken up next week
I think Philip and Jeanine, Jason and Caitlin, and Randi and Evan will be the bottom couples tonight and I think we can see Caitlin and any of the guys go home. But I really think Caitlin's time is up. There's something about her I just... loathe. Everything she does is so heavy. She's just a clunky dancer, in my opinion. I think Philip should leave because he can't do jack besides his own style. He's brilliant at what he does but he's not even in the same planet as the rest of the dancers this season. But Evan really put himself at risk last night. The judges and America love Philip and Jason has some fantastic solos so... I'm worried. But if I were to pick, it would be Caitlin and Philip going home.
I'm actually really nervous Evan might go if he's in the bottom. The judges seem to LOVE Philip, and I can't see them getting rid of him. But looking back, as much as I love Evan, he really hasn't had a GREAT AMAZING night, has he? He's always been pretty good, but it seems like the comments of "I was disappointed", "I wish there was more" and "you've got to step it up" are pretty standard fare for him now. YIKES. I want to see him bring it.
Kupono and Kayla's contemporary routine was amazing. Amazing amazing amazing. Best of the night, for me.
I actually really didn't like the Broadway routine last night...I thought it was an odd choice of music for the "story" they were trying to tell...If you're telling a "love at first sight" story...is that really the most appropriate choice from that show? Wasn't a fan...but then again, I find they often miss the mark matching stories with music with the Broadway routines.

My favorite so far has been that salsa dancer (Jeanette, the one who wants to be a loan officer, LOL). Kayla is a beautiful dancer, but I find her bland at times. Also, I'm getting annoyed watching her dance almost every routine barefoot.
I'm at the beach so I was a bit tipsy last night. I remember Melissa and Ade doing well, but I could have been wrong?
No, they did very well
If you're telling a "love at first sight" story...is that really the most appropriate choice from that show?
Isn't "Dance at the Gym" the moment when Maria and Tony meet and fall in love at first sight? Seems like a fine choice to me.
My votes are also for Caitlin (she just bugs me, I'm not sure why) and either Philip or Evan. Sad, because I love both of them, but they just have not done as well as the other guys.
My absolute favorite couple is Melissa and Ade. Melissa is my favorite overall, but I think Ade has been completely underrated. Everyone is saying that Brandon is the best male dancer, but Ade is absolutely fantastic. The way he lifts Melissa like she's nothing and he completely matched her in the classical ballet piece? Wonderful.
but that's not the part they used...it was a more upbeat and jazzy section. When I saw it was going to be WSS, I thought they would use the Tony/Maria moment too. Maybe I'm rusty on my WSS music...am I wrong?
No, you're right. It was the lead-in to the first part of DATG.

PHEW!!! I really didn't know which of those two couples would be in the bottom.
Shut up, Tyce.
Caitlin is so gone.

Oh my, Jason is quite the hottie!!
Jason and caitlin are done.
also, Phillip using the Diva Dance from 5th Element made my night.
I don't like Jason (I do like his torso, though) but Phillip really cannot do anything except what he just did. I'd lose him, then Jason next week.
They aren't gonna cut phillip before the top 10. They want him on the tour, and they have plenty of contemp guys that they can get rid of Jason. If they cut Phillip they'll have NO hip hop on the tour. Phillip is safe.
Sighhhh.
Kelly Rowland, stop screeching.

Who was the last guy who just danced? That was amazing!
Thank god. Finally...she should have gone WEEKS ago.
That was obvious. She's been on the precipice for a long time. you was bound to be pushed over the edge eventually.
Does anyone else think she looks exactly like Elizabeth Berridge from Amadeus?
Ha HA!!

Ahh, ok, well ok, tehy cut him, but they're still taking him ont he tour.
Yeah, that makes sense, because he really is dead weight in terms of the competition. I'm so glad the judges do it fairly.
And for some reason I had that biggest lump in my throat when Philip spoke.
