I'm gay and I have no desire to see the same sex ballroom couple again. I found them to be terrible I was slightly uncomfortable watching them.
I didn't like them either, but with all the negative "homophobic" publicity, it should at least be addressed. The fact that they were not very good I feel could easily be remedied with a good choreographer and a strong routine. What was an embarrassment in the audition could turn into a WOW featured performance as well as call a truce to the ridiculous "homophobia" nonsense. I think it's would be worth the two minutes of air time and for those who don't want to see it, they can simply fast-forward. It would certainly be better than half the musical acts they trot out throughout the season. And if they're willing to devote air time to (and even FEATURE) that creature who calls himself "Sex" every season, then this would hardly be considered unworthy by comparison.
Wow. That was a whole lotta Mary for the first 20 minutes.
I thought Evan and Randi's dance was REALLY good. It's not easy doing the Fosse stuff, even though it looks it. I thought they did the best "Broadway" routine in a couple of seasons
As much as I hate Caitlin, that was fantastic.
This is an AMAZING night so far. In my opinion, there has been no duds
Now THAT was gorgeous.
All-in-all.....the best of the season so far. Everyone was great.
A super-solid episode. LOVED the Nappy Tab chain dance, and there wasn't a single pair who screwed up majorly.
I did too, Scott. I generally love all of their stuff.
THAT is how Broadway should be done. Take note, Tyce. Your stuff sucks. Randi and Evan danced the hell out of it. I don't know what the judges were watching.
Ade and Melissa were... wow. Just beautiful.
And I just hate Caitlin. I find nothing she does good or entertaining. I just want her to go.
Was Caitlin the alien one? That was just a weird dance.
Melissa and Ade - OMG. I was actually crying it was so beautiful.
So I've never seen this show before, but I watched it last night as there was no Mythbusters on. Now I know what I've been missing! Such talent these folks have. The Romeo and Juliet piece was fabulous.
I agree, there really wasn't a bad dance in the bunch last night. I like that Brian guy who choreographed the alien dance and the one that got Max kicked off a couple weeks ago, but I don't think that people "get" him.
I found Mia to be pleasant and likeable last night, thank goodness.
I HEART Sonya...I just have to say that. I HEART HER!
So cool to have a true ballet piece on there. Beautiful and so awesome that Ade did such a good job. That couldn't have been easy. He lifted her like she was a feather.
Loved Randi and Evan...don't know what they were talking about.
Janette and Brandon are superb. That girl is freakin fierce!
Oh and I LOVED the quick change in the Quick Step. CUTE CUTE CUTE.
So who do we think will be in the bottom this week, because really nobody deserves to be there. I think it will be definitely Kaitlin and Jason. Probably Karla and Vitolio...after that I'm not sure.
L, I agree about your choices for the bottom. The only thing I can think of is maybe Kupono and Kayla merely because they've been in the bottom before. They definitely don't deserve it though.
I would say Karla and Vitolio, Kaitlin and Jason, and maybe *cringe* Randi and Evan. I doubt the last pair is in any danger of going home, though. I would imagine, if those couples are indeed the bottom three, it'll be Jason and Kaitlin, though Karla was really coming off badly last night in the personality department. She seemed displeased, and doesn't seem to like Vitolio all that much. Kaitlin is a shame, though, since she really is an excellent dancer, but hasn't showed it very well yet.
Yeah, unfortunately I think it might be Randi and Evan or Kayla and Kupono. When I went back to watch the dances again, I had forgotten about them. (Even though I loved the dance.) I hope that Randi and Evan have a big enough fanbase to get them through. I hate that they're always so disappointed in Evan. I think he's been consistantly good.
I think Evan and Randi will be okay because of their fan base.
It's really getting to the point where it's tough to choose three couples for the bottom.
So nobody commenting on who was kicked off last night? I can't believe it.
Based on his solo, I thought for sure Kupono was a goner. I'm still not sure why they saved him. I don't find him to be that compelling of a dancer or personality.
Honestly, I will not miss Karla. While she wasn't a bad dancer, she never seemed to light up the stage.
And Phillip in the bottom three? Who would have thought that after doing an excellent hip-hip routine?
Thoughts on the Brand New Day number? (My viewing was made miserable by an audio glick in my TV feed, so I couldn't really get a handle on whether it was good or not - I was too annoyed by the audio skipping and buzzing through the whole number.)
The Brand New Day number was just a hot mess all around. There was no focus and no one doing anything remotely compelling. Tyce couldn't choreograph his way out of a wet paper bag.
Based on the solos, I think they made the right choices. I don't think Kupono was much (if at all) better than Vitolio, but I'd be shocked if either of them stayed around much longer, so it wasn't that important a decision.

I adored the Broadway routine. Simply adored. I also have no idea what the judges were talking about... of course, my love for Evan may have had a biased effect on how I felt about it. And the fact it was broadway at all.
Brandon and Janette? Truly fierce. I've been rooting for Brandon since the beginning and it was nice to see that Mia didn't completely hate his guts after all.
I truly wasn't expecting the Ballet routine. But it was completely enjoyable and Melissa and Ade are fantastic.
I actually really enjoyed the Alien routine. It freaked me out, and it was supposed to so yeah. xD
It was sad to see Karla and Vitolio go, but I would have been sad to see any of them go. They all did fantastic. (Though I'm sort of itching for Phillip to go because, though I love him, it seems like he can't do any other style well other than Hip Hop. I hope he grows, because if he doesn't soon he'll probably be a goner.)
I dont see what all the hype is about Evan. He's not bad but, he isnt anywhere near as beautiful of a dancer as the rest of the guys left. I do LOVE Randi though!
Looks like they're keeping Philip around for the tour and will probably get rid of him at the first opportunity when they're down to the final 10. He's not versatile enough for the show, but he clearly has a fan base and would sell tickets.
I also thought Kupono had a weaker solo than Vitolio, but at this stage, it's sort of a toss-up since neither of them really have much chance in winning with Branden, Jason, Janette, Kayla and Randi on the show. Any of them could be in the top 4. Branden and Janette seem to be the clear front-runners, but anyone could make a fatal error and allow others to slip in to the front at this point.
Don't foget about Janine from Miami! She's an amazing dancer and she proved that last week with her solo!
Janine is truly fantastic. Hopefully she'll go far.
