The thought that stayed with me long after the film goes like this:
You're a bright kid, versed in some basic magic, and your folks think you might have potential. So they scrimp and save and send you to this place called Hogwarts so you can fulfill their dream of becoming a world class wizard, maybe with a government post.
But every damn year, these two obnoxious kids just cant deal with each other and create havoc for everyone else. By your third year, all you want to do is take both Potter and Voldemort, tie them together, and throw them into the deepest dungeon so you can go back to studying about poisonous herbs in peace and quiet.
But it just gets worse, and clearly they're not going to be happy until they bring down the entire school, brick by brick. And you've had just about enough of the two of them. Time to take matters into your own hands.....

#178 Saw Harry Potter Part Two
Posted: 8/1/11 at 6:20amYou know, I've sometimes wondered why that never happened, but I sort of have an explanation. In the first book, nothing really affects anyone else (other than losing 150 house points). In the second, many people (Ernie, Hannah, and other Hufflepuffs) do turn on Harry and get angry at him. In the third, nobody knows Harry's relationship with Sirius. In the fourth, people do get angry at Harry for supposedly finding his way into the tournament. In the fifth, almost everybody turns on Harry after what they have seen with him and few people really believe what happened in the graveyard when Cedric dies. In the end of that one, people finally understand the scope of what's happening. In the sixth, people are living in fear and (in the book) many students do leave Hogwarts, especially after Dumbledore dies. In the seventh, when Harry seemingly disappears, many people (Aberforth being the prime example) lose faith that it will get better and are angry that Harry isn't doing anything. People do get quite angry with the conflict that's happening. It's just pretty hard to find both Harry and Voldemort, tie them together, and throw them into a dungeon, and it'd probably take Voldemort two seconds to find his way out.
