But before this she had given up the business, no?
Does Ryan Murphy just supply really great drugs or something? Why do the actors all feel so well taken care of? I have to think they never see the product that airs.

I have the past two episodes on my dvr and just have no desire to watch any more of this hack's show.

Especially now that AHS is back. That's the crown jewel of hate watching.
No, the edge for hate-watching has to go to Scream Queens because of Emma Roberts and Chanel-o-ween. I mean she referred to the Civil War as the war of northern aggression this past week! What is her character supposed to be??? AHS at least has some style. Watching Murphy think he's using Chanel as some brilliant satirical mouthpiece is the most hateful thing currently on television

"Yea, and that line was treated as a throwaway line no less. I completely agree--Murphy and Falchuk (and I suppose their directors,) at least make AHS even at its worst look terrific.
I can only assume at this point that Chanel is genuinely meant to be loveable in her awfulness--a bit like Santana was in at least the early seasons of Glee. She's not.

Yeah, and another problem with Chanel is that in an 100 minute horror film we would have the (near) instant gratification of a satisfying comeuppance with her gruesome death. In a 22 episode series where this character is not an evil supporting player, but the lead character it is very difficult to deal with her on a weekly basis knowing she will say and do whatever she wants without any sort of punishment. In the last episode alone she was finally arrested and put in prison for the housekeeper's murder, only to be released hours later.
Don't worry--there are only 15 episodes, not 22 ![]()
I don't know why the main focus seems to be on somehow making her appealing, when they could be working to make someone else remotely appealing (Zayna or whatever her name is comes off as appealing but is barely seen, and the main girl who I guess is meant to be the "final girl" is completely wasted.) I'm gonna call it now--the final twist will be that nearly all of them, if not all of them are the Devil at various points. To have good camp you have to have some sense that the creators still care about the story, at least in IMHO, and there's none of that here.
Also, last week we had that BIZARRO scene where the sorority girls decided they would woman up--so to speak, and take control of their lives and enjoy food and even had that random choreographed fight student with the two douchebags (yaye for entitled mean white girls embracing feminism!!) but that was all forgotten by this episode--even down to them not eating again. I found that odd, but then I remembered that this was a Murphy/Falchuk show...
I agree with you that Zayday is the most appealing of the girls and her scenes with Denise, or basically anytime Denise is on screen, are the best moments of the show. Palmer is somehow able to rise above lines about Oakland Nachos and create a character underneath Murphy's mess. (Totally with you on the final girl and her boy being completely wasted and useless on the show. Shouldn't we be rooting for her by now?)
I haven't bothered to come up with a theory about who the devils are because I just don't care. The mystery aspect of the show is weak and things they've teased, like Jonas faking his death, haven't been developed.
Basically I'm in it for Palmer and Nash. When they both are killed off it will be tough going.
So they take the surviving members to a new location? So we still don't know who the Red Devil is? Then what's the freaking point? It's like The Killing all over again. Except.... far far far worse.

Ripped Man, I think I remember in the Entertainment Weekly magazine article, if there is a season 2, it will be the survivors in a different location, storyline and with a different killer. I recall him talking about when they graduated.

Ever since the last few Glee seasons, I thought television couldn't get any worse, but Ryan Murphy and his squad have outdone themselves once again. What an awful show, it's probably the most horrible fictional television series I have ever seen. I considered scratching my eyes out after the first two hours. Yikes!

Wow, when they dial back the deliberately offensive stuff, this show is about as exciting as watching paint dry, huh?
So AV Club gave last night's episode a B+, which is simply baffling. I agree with you, Phyllis, that it was insanely boring. It is an awful show though! Like just so so so bad. It makes zero sense. The most shocking thing about it is how it all sounds and feels and looks like GLEE fan fiction. I find the dialogue cringing. As with GLEE, the pros (like Jamie Lee Curtis, Nassim Pedrad and Niecy Nash) manage to rise above it most of the time and yet the show insists on spending time with the most rotten, ridiculous, despicable characters.
Poor Abigail Breslin, she's an Oscar nominee and has the worst role. The main Channel must be one of the most disgusting lead characters I've seen on TV. The deaths are irrelevant, especially since there are no stakes involved. Keke Palmer (the one young girl who comes off unscathed) is almost murdered and then she is ready to dance? The boring final girl wants to stay to protect her rotten sisters whom she just met? On the bright side, this makes AHS: HOTEL look as Pulitzer-worthy as Julia's book for BOMBSHELL.
Dead on. I replied on avclub but didn't go as far as to suggest the reviewer was high while watching to think it was a new direction and an uptick in quality
Eric, I definitely 420-ed while watching and can tell you there's not enough smoke in the world to make that episode look like a B+. It was one of the worst things I've seen this year, and I watched all of STATE OF AFFAIRS and the premiere of EXTANT. It's bad when you find yourself saying things like, "at least GLEE had showtunes" while watching Sam (how bad is the actress who plays her?) about to die an obvious death in the basement.
Last night made me realize how important Niecy Nash and Jamie Lee are to the show. They have incredible charisma. Nassim Pedrad is fantastic as well. The girls are just awful except for Palmer. Poor Breslin indeed-an incredible actress mired down in this s@#t show. She's got a thankless role.

But Ryan treats them SO WELL!!!!!

I thought it was weird that Jamie Lee wasn't in it till the end. I guess I expected her and Nasim living in the house was going to go on for more than an episode, but that's probably on me, thinking anyone making this show cares about continuity.

The actress playing Sam said it was her first audition and she was cast due to her look. That's another thing though--why is so much of the supporting cast for this show (one of the most heavily promoted shows of the year,) SOOOOO awful. It actually makes me more impressed with some of the worst cast members of Glee. I mean I know they cast those two twins because they're some sort of Youtube viral sensation for both coming out to their dad on YouTube (sigh...) but seriously--they couldn't find capable actors? (And as awful as the whole "predatory Lesbian" thing was, Murphy and crew never even WENT with it--she gave one predatory look, if I can recall when introduced and otherwise just sorta shuffled around in the background.)
Re Jamie Lee--they film around her schedule (I believe she goes to New Orleans three days a week, since she wanted to stay close to her family,) so I assume that means we'll get a number of episodes where she's barely featured.
The show seems to me to be a meaner Glee without the music but all the great lines.
it seems to me that Dean is Sue Sylvester
Chanel 1 is Santana
Chanel 2 was Kitty
Chanel 3 is Quinn
Zayday is Mercedes
Boone is Kurt
Gracie is Marley
Gracies Dad is Mr Shue
Gigi is Miss Pillsbury
Hester is Brittany
Thanks, Pinto.
Anyways, I stopped watching after the first 2 episodes. This isn't even something I want to hate-watch.
also, Predatory Lez and Chanel #4 are the Britana of the show
Deaf Taylor Swift was Becky
All thats missing is the Cherrios!
