No. You're not. You are coming off elitist and unintelligible. I'm not the brightest bulb on the shelf but I'm no slouch. Still, I have to read your posts 2-3 times before I get them. Can't you dumb it down just a bit? The tiniest bit?

Well, since I don't really know what the problem is, I'll just go about other business and leave you to it.
And for the record, if I'm an 'elitist', I'm a terrible failure at it.

I may prevaricate on occasion, but pretending "Making Love" was any good at all would probably cause me to impressively projectile vomit.
Remember? "Before Brokeback, there was 'Making Love'!'" Truly an LOL thread title of all time.

I remember it vividly, which is why I thought your chant might be heard if you added those words.

The numbers are hard to get at, but here's an article that looks at comparisons between the 1990 and 2000 census and focuses on New York and then broadens it out to the rest of the country, including rural areas.
"For the United States as a whole the numbers were 2.6 percent for men and 1.1 percent for women."
Counting Gay New York
#142re: Sean Hayes rocks.
Posted: 1/30/06 at 11:51pmNamo, that article actually disputes the census findings. Single LGBT people were not acurately recorded.
#143re: Sean Hayes rocks.
Posted: 1/31/06 at 12:05amI read it too and the people who are counted are "households." Many gay people in New York do not fit under this term as do most people in gerneral.

Posted: 1/31/06 at 1:45pmWhat are these "days gone by" of which you speak? I see nothing wrong with public discussions of religion, sex, any topic really. I'm glad the days have gone by, and I'm sure that almost every minority member in this country would agree.

Yes DG, stop being so damned intelligent. It's a real strain for some to try to make an argument when you throw around big words and speak eloquently. You elitist pig.
Now, if Sean Hayes is gay and does not wish to discuss that publicly, it certainly doesn't make him dispicable. That is a wrod that can be used to describe many public figures for many reasons, but it completely inappropraite in this case.
Carry on with your argument, my ride is here and I am off to the theater. I just wanted to throw in my two cents.

Harvey Fierstein has this to say about the contemptable Mr. Hayes (though he didn't refer to him by name, it was clear who he was speaking about):
“This year there was a cover of Vanity Fair magazine about the new television season and how gay it was. And the cover was like ten people in gay shows and there’s only one gay person on the cover. Well, one openly gay person. You know, there’s that other one who, if you say he’s gay, he’ll sue you. I would like to drown him with the kittens. He is exactly the reason why we’re still fighting for our rights, because he is advertising daily that there’s something wrong with being gay.”
