Shepherd's pie,
Yikes. I spelled it wrong.
Mister Russell. I will take you up on that offer.

I like it with stringed beans instead of corn...and Catsup instead of gravy...with butter drizzled on the potatoes...

Ugh, sorry, but NOT hot. Conjures up memories of bad church dinners made to suit the palates of old ladies who love mushiness and hate any kind of seasoning.

My favorite church dish to bring is cheesy hashbrown bake (we call 'em funeral potatoes because they seem to be a staple at every post-funeral luncheon we assemble.)

If im not mistaken Shepards pie is actually made with Lamb,
if its made with beef then it's called a cottage pie, thats
the case here in the uk anyway.
Dollypop, you're too funny.
I have never had shepherds pie. It's not a big hit here in the Oklahoma,
Beacon1, I totally know what you're talking about. Funeral potatoes are AMAZING. My grandma made them for Easter and I ate far too many of them... deceptively good, with such a *charming* name.
Love it!! But it must be homemade.

Favorite church dish?
We have an Italian pastor at our church, so now our get-togethers have a truly Calabrian flair. At our last dinner the mussels marinara was the most popular dish--quickly followed by my homemade manicotti.
