I used to enjoy seeing what out brothers across the aisle were saying in the Fox News comments but it turned my stomach to see that everyone who disagreed with the party line was a fag or a gay or homo.

"Because, Ernie, 26 goes into '49' a helluva lot easier than '49' goes into 26!"
I actually think it's worse. I think it's cause they know many of their viewers hate gay people. It's just so insidious.
You're right, Robbie. The homophobia of Fox News viewers is a HUGE problem for their website, as it is for many conservative websites.
When FoxNews.com publishes a story about a gay issue, they have to disble the comment feature. Click on almost any gay story on FoxNews.com and you'll see this in a little box:

This is the guy that frequently brings up "the True Blood" on air, right?

Yes,or sports. He is rather obsessed with those two topics.
Gawker outed the boyfriend.
WARNING: You might feel the need to wash your hands after reading the Gawker article. Their kind of reporting is relentlessly sleazy:
Graziano has not returned multiple emails sent to three different email addresses, a LinkedIn message, five text messages, and three voicemails left on his cell phone. Nor were we able to find him at his last known address, a penthouse suite of an East Village condominium.
Nevertheless, the story's now out there.

I agree that Gawker article is sleazy but not because they attempted to speak to him before the story ran. That used to be a journalistic standard.
The NY Times calls out...Gawker.
NY Times: Gawker Kicks Open the Closet, but Its Disclosure Barely Reverberates
this is really disgusting. what this man decides to disclose or not disclose is his business. hes not doing anything illegal and as far as i know hes not a public figure which shouldnt matter anyway.
this happened 8 months ago. Clearly a political agenda at work here.

I finally read the NY Times story. Funny after 3 decades we are still arguing outing.
Newspapers run "Tom Cruise is dating Penelope Cruz" stories all the time. TMZ runs "Alec Baldwin was at LAX" clips. Why not Sheperd Smith is dating a hot Fox employee?
On Huff Post, Michelangelo Signorile agrees with Joe:

i dont think its right for someone else to decide whats good for me... or when or who i need to tell. thats a personal decision in my opinion. in a way its a form of bullying.
I agree: Change the gender of either of the participants, and OF COURSE every detail would and should be reported everywhere. But if they're gay, it's a dirty secret?

I'm with Michelangelo, too.
Though I found the Gawker stuff a little skeevotz, I found the NY Times piece more infuriating. I was hoping against hope that it was simply a gay taking other gays to task. But no...it was a heterosexual man telling people how to feel about issues of outing and the closet.
Which means I should just ignore it.
David Carr at the Times Tweets that he kinds agrees with Robbie.
