Went on the site. Went thru my choices. Elected to have them E mail me. Read the email. Called. Got Blue Anthem. I pay $80.00 a month. No co pays. No deductibles. Not a HMO. Starts in January. I am happy.

Correction.. $88.00 a month. Still very happy.
For those in California, here is a link to the ACA-related health care exchange.

There must be a catch. Sounds like one of Obama's tricks. Anything in the email about death panels? Sounds like for what you are paying you got a great deal. Still, there must be something wrong. This is all very bad. The Republicans say so. Nothing was mentioned about killing the elderly? Losing your job? Going into poverty?
In all seriousness, Congratulations! Sounds great to me.Go celebrate! I'm happy for you.

Did you do it on your free Obama phone. Congratulations on killing America.

Oh by the way.. it did take a little patience. Since this is the first day the site is inundated and a little slow. But once I got thru the assessment questionnaire it was smooth sailing. And when I requested to get called the insurance company called me within 30 minutes. But between this and getting tickets to Cher.. I have been on this computer all morning.

And I should add. I have not signed anything yet. Since it starts January 1. Also; something I did was call the doctor I want to use as my primary physician and went thru the available plans with them. Just a suggestion.
You could afford a ticket to Cher but you have not been able to afford health insurance?
You use food stamps to buy Cher tickets. Duh.
"You could afford a ticket to Cher but you have not been able to afford health insurance?"
Because those two things are equivalent.

Ha! I actually used a Amex gift card for Cher. But it was only $59.00. And my mother said the same thing.

Your health insurance premium is less than half of my monthly cable and internet bill. I can see why the Mensa members of BWW say the ACA is a nightmare!

And it was not even the cheapest option. I just don't like HMO.
I went to the website and could not create an account because none of the security questions showed up on the drop down menu. This was through NJ, if that makes a difference right now. Is that a sign that this program is crap and Obama really wants me to die?
And I'm kidding about the last part, incase everyone thought I was serious.

You must be mistaken. The BWW genius pool has insisted there is no choice, there will be no choice, you can't make decisions! America, dead!

The BWW genius pool = People talking out of their ass.
That is wonderful. Been hearing good things from those able to get thru.
""You could afford a ticket to Cher but you have not been able to afford health insurance?""
i was thinking the same thing. this reminds me of shoppers talking on their IPHONES while paying for their beer with food stamps while wearing $200 tennis shoes
Sue: Cassandra already said that she bought tickets with a gift card.
That's like saying "How can you afford to buy presents for Christmas when you have to pay rent?" People who aren't rich sometimes CAN afford to pay their bills AND buy some things that they want. It's amazing but it's true.

Great to hear of a firsthand account. Thanks for sharing, Cassandra.
well if indeed she really did, its the same principle. a giftcard is just like money, you can buy food, clothes, vitamins, stuff that someone who couldnt afford healthcare before today probably still cant afford.
I'm confused. I don't see where Cassandra ever said that she had not been able to afford health insurance in the past. Maybe she could but chose not to until now when it became cheaper. There are lots of expensive things that I can afford but choose not to buy until they're on sale. Sounds like people are jumping to the same conclusions they jump to when snooping through other people's grocery carts at the market. Maybe they WANT to see abuse, so they do.
