re: So You Think You Can Dance

Benji's 30 second solo, was more entertaining to me, than any single number, in 2 seasons. He's the best dancer. The BYE BYE BLACKBIRD number was my least favorite of the evening. Just a bore, imo.

re: So You Think You Can Dance

SO this Benji character is like a Christian missionary or something. He must have to pretend to be straight, too. Good God, that is a dance that even HE couldn't pull off I also love the one kid that tries to gain a few inches of height with that 3 inch mohawk, and the boots with heels. Did you know he was on Broadway in The Music Man?? WInthorp understudy..lol.

re: So You Think You Can Dance

I am pretty sure I've read this whole thread, so sorry if this has already been mentioned, but Allison was in High School Musical. I haven't seen it, but saw a picture of her dancing... looked like a background dancer to me.

re: So You Think You Can Dance

If I am not mistaken, Benji is Mormon. They made reference to his religion a couple of times at the beginning of the season.

Regardless of his sexual orientation, at least Benji is able to develop chemistry with his partners unlike several other people on the show.

re: So You Think You Can Dance

I'm not sure what his sexual orientation, or his religious beliefs have to do with his ability to dance; but, he remains, by far, my favorite dancer on the show.

re: So You Think You Can Dance

I do think that his religious background, if he is indeed a Mormon, makes an interesting backstory, considering the modesty of the Mormon faith.

But you are right, religion and sexual orientation are separate issues from the ability to dance.

re: So You Think You Can Dance

Heidi and Benji are cousins, right? My friend told me this, but I couldn't remember them mentioning it.
#333

re: So You Think You Can Dance

Yes. It was mentioned during the auditions, and Nigel mentioned it, during the competition, after she had danced.
#334

re: So You Think You Can Dance

Yes, and have been competition partners as well.

re: So You Think You Can Dance

Haha did you see Ryan and Travis telling Dimitri to take off his shirt!!!
#337

re: So You Think You Can Dance

Haha TAG! That was expected. Accompianied (sp?) w/ thousands of fangirls screaming. My cousin is sad that he left. Because he was hot. How shallow is America?
I'm glad Martha got out. She wasn't a stand-out. With the comments from last night, she didn't really have a good chance of not being in the bottom 2. If Natalie left, I would be so surprised. Thank Goodness.
I'm surprised it wasn't Travis & Benji (my favorite guys) telling Dmitry to take out that shirt. re: So You Think You Can Dance

re: So You Think You Can Dance

I agree with you. Not necessarily about your choices, but about it being unfair that one girl and one guy has to go. At this point, it should just be the bottom 2 in votes, regardless if they are male or female. Of course, the problem becomes couples dancing.

re: So You Think You Can Dance

That was horse sh*t. Dmitry leaving before Ivan was expected??? Especially after that crap waltz? Sorry, but I guess I was right. Ivan is the new Jamile. The fans think he's cute, but he deserved to get cut in the first or second episode. He had maybe two decent partner dances thus far and all the other men have danced circles around him in every way. Well Dmitry, now you know how Artem feels, which is something along the lines of "Americans are idiots", which in this case, is completely correct. Martha was the obvious one to go for the women. Dmitry...not obvious at all.

PS - Whoever decided the American audience should decide who is the best dancer is the biggest idiot. Audiences should never be allowed to vote people off. Nominating two or more for elimination by the judges is fine, but actually voting the contestants off? Absolutely not.

I agree with you, completely, about Ivan. I wouldn't have even had him on the show. He certainly did not deserve to stay this long.

re: So You Think You Can Dance

My favorite has been Benji since I first caught the show. Usually when you watch a pair dancing, your eyes focus on the woman. But he is so good, you just are drawn to watching him. Someone put up a website about him. His routine with Heidi, where they won that 2005 swing championship, just rocks! www.benjischwimmer.com

re: So You Think You Can Dance

No need to rehash the Ivan surprise, so I will go a different route ... did any one else notice Ivan run and jump into a shirtless Dmitry's arms?!? Things that make you go hmmm ...

Wooohooo the shirtless wonder is gone. Now, back to people who don;t have to rely about good abs to advance.

"did any one else notice Ivan run and jump into a shirtless Dmitry's arms?!? Things that make you go hmmm ..."

First of all, I so heart that ole phrase "things that make ya go 'hmmm'..." should be used more nowadays. YOu rule.

First thing after the show ends, my mother turns to me (as I do theatre and so she expects me to have amazing gaydar, which I don't) and is like, laughing, and points out that all the guys are the ones that run over to Dmitry and are all up on him WELL before any of the girls make it over to get their hugs etc in. It's funny that you mention it.

I realized today, Benji is the Clay Aiken of this show for me. The semi-dorky, really nice guy type.

Oh, and my fave. That's the other similarity between the two for me. re: So You Think You Can Dance

If I show you the darkness I hold inside, will you bring me to light?

I'm gonna miss those abs ...

In the category of "More things that make you go 'hmmm'"

TVGuide.com: What does your wife, Teesha, think about the on-stage chemistry you had with your partner, Natalie?

Musa: She definitely understands. I'm an actor, too; most of my roles have been in small-budget films and of a sexual nature. She understands that sex sells, and that it probably kept me on the show. We always joke about it.

re: So You Think You Can Dance

Musa's married? Wow. I knew he was like 30. But I guess that's cool. He's like a fitness model.
The Ivan hugging was...interesting. I guess they were really close & stuff. Hopefully. re: So You Think You Can Dance
Random Question: What was the name of Dmitry's goodbye song?
