re: So You Think You Can Dance

Another thing I've noticed about Natalie, is that whe she dances with a partner she seems to be focused on only making herself look good. Yeah...I hope she gets voted off and then Donyelle.

"But, Heidi, for me, was the best dancer of the night. She did what Travis did; but, he could never do what she did in her solo. She is far more diverse, imo."

I agree with this.

perhaps she rose to his level in the duet dances but she couldn't pull off his solo either.

I love Donyelle, but she literally can't go on. Did you see her at the end of her solo, she didn't finish and then she hobbled over to cat.

re: So You Think You Can Dance

I think Ivan and Natalie need to go this week. They simply aren't up to par with the other four.

re: So You Think You Can Dance

It's not a reason to keep voting for her, but I give it up for Donyelle though for trying to at least duke it out with her injury. It can't be easy to dance these dances with a hurt foot, not matter what the style of dance is. Could be the reason she hasn't been up to par with the rest of her performances not just 'casue she is was without Benji.

On a side note, i am neeever going on the Fox mb again. it's horrible over there.

re: So You Think You Can Dance

I think that Donyelle is wonderful, but in the past few weeks she has been sluggish. She can't turn as fast as the other girls. Maybe it's because the choreography is getting harder. The mambo routine that Benji and Heidi did was phenominal. I could somewhat envision Nat and Alison doing that, though not as well-executed as Heidi. But I can't imagine Donyelle doing those quick turns and spins. The most I've seen her do is a double. I might attribute it more to her weight than an injury.

I also think she benefited tremendously from having Benji as her partner for 5 weeks in a row. When watching the jazz number last night, I thought she was very weak in style (for this stage of the competition). I could envision Heidi, Allison, or Nat bringing more pizzazz.

Whoever made the comment about Nat focusing on herself said what I was thinking when watching her contemporary with Benji. It's all about... me. I was surprised when the judges said their chemistry was good. At the time, I chalked my feelings up to not seeing her face much in that routine, because her hair kept hiding it. But she does seem focused on herself.

Ivan's a sweetie, but he should be gone already. With regard to the final 3 men, any comments on who "should have" been the top 3 men? I agree with Benji and Travis, but can't focus on the third man.

I also made the mistake of going over to the Fox boards to take a look. What a bunch of morons.

Perhaps not, but she would do it a whole lot better than he could do hers; which, is my point.

re: So You Think You Can Dance

I was going to say something similar to JohnBoy ... I think Heidi might suprise you in a solo like Travis's. That is why I would like to see them do solos outside of their specialty.

re: So You Think You Can Dance

I'm just gonna say that Heidi, Benji, and Donyelle stole the show last night. Those are deff the top 3. And Travis is right behind them. But Natalie and Ivan were just awkward last night. It just didnt work re: So You Think You Can Dance

re: So You Think You Can Dance

if ivan and natalie are not the ones to go tonight, america has made a mistake and nigel will say that.

travis and heidi are beyond the most talented on the show. and donyelle and benji are right behind them. i could watch travis and heidi do the bench/flower dance for my whole life. that was the most beautiful piece ever done on the show. and the tribal dance last night was fantastic. they are the two most versatile performers.

re: So You Think You Can Dance

I really don't get the versatile label, associated with Travis. He just does not handle legitimate ballroom, very well. I reserve the versatile label for Benji and Heidi. Donyelle, as well, just not as proficiently. Travis, is last year's Nick, without Nick's versatility; or, talent, for that matter. I like him; but I don't think he should win this thing. Although, he is probably more suited to Mia Michael's show, that anyone else. But, that's not a requirement.

Didn't Nigel tell Donyelle last night that she was starting to drag Benji down to her level?

re: So You Think You Can Dance

Yeah he did, and I sort of agree with him. Donyelle is slowly going down. I'm afraid to see who leaves tonight. In my opinion it should be Donyelle and Ivan. I really don't want to see Natalie go.

re: So You Think You Can Dance

i was reading the boards on fox.com/dance again just for kicks. i forgot just how freakishly stupid those people are...

i personally keep thinking about 2 facts:

1) the main prize is to be in Mia's Vegas show... think about who could actually handle Mia's choreography PROFESSIONALLY. IMO Donyelle most likely couldnt (has she even gotten contemporary this season?). Benji and Heidi are a little bit closer, but not by much. Travis is the hands down winner in this category.

2) This is a show to find america's FAVORITE DANCER. not america's BEST DANCER. the judges emphasized that a lot early on. dancers like me get mad at this fact constantly. in this area, i believe Benji would be picked to win. i can't remember the last time he was in the bottom anything... i hear too many people talking about how travis does nothing but turns/spins and is repetitive in his solos, which is in part true but he always follows up with something unique and amazing technique.

It's a tough choice this year. My favorites are Benji, Heidi, and Travis.

re: So You Think You Can Dance

Coma, unfortunately for Mia, your number one doesn't make any difference. She is stuck with whoever is, as you remind us in number two, America's favorite dancer. Now, with that in mind, I think you may be right about Travis, but not for the reasons you mention.

Having not seen Celine's show, I cannot say who I think is best suited for it. However, making a guess I think Travis would do well in the show because he fails to wow me as a performer. His technique is outstanding, but his lack of personality as a dancer will allow him to blend in with the rest of the ensemble, which I imagine will be required of the winner.

When she smiles (and is not making a cabbage patch face), anyone notice the resemblence between Heidi and Reese Witherspoon?

re: So You Think You Can Dance

I think Heidi looks like Amy Spanger. The other day one of my friends was going through my album and my picture with Amy Spanger and goes "She looks just like Heidi!".

Gee I wonder if anyone guessed who was going home between Benji and Ivan...toughie.

YES!! She resembles her so much! I've noticed that from day one. re: So You Think You Can Dance

re: So You Think You Can Dance

Haha yes, Daba. I huge relief was lifted when Ivan was anounced that he was going home.
I'm glad that Natalie & Ivan left the show. They were never really my favorites.
I feel like Travis's slols are always the same. A slow-type of song w/ a contemporary dance to go along with it. But He's my 2nd favorite, behind Benji.

ETA: I think it's so cute/sad/adorable when everybody cries becaus eit really shows how close they all are. Allison was crying so much for Ivan. Craziness. Benji was like crying. Like everybody who was safe were nearly crying. I love it.

Over (or under I should say) the din of the crowd, I found it interesting that Cat was quick to point out that Travis didn't necessarily get the most votes, just that he was safe.
