re: So You Think You Can Dance

Don't get me wrong, I like Travis, but he reminds me of Nick from last season, and it would be a bummer if practically the exact same person won two years in a row.

I agree that he is the same type of dancer as Nick; but, he doesn't hold a candle to Nick's showmanship, imo. Travis has done nothing this season that impressed me the way Nick did, last year. Nick was my favorite dancer last year. Travis is missing a true performance skill.

re: So You Think You Can Dance

I want Travis to win... his technique is absolutely FLAWLESS and if I could dance half as well as he can, I would die happy. Also, I will marry him someday. Even if he is gay.

The thing that really bothers me about Heidi is that she's supposed to be this incredible Latin (and WCS, etc.) dancer and yes, she has impeccable technique, but her Latin is not the least bit sensual... it's just all this empty hip movement. And her other dancing is just ugly, if you ask me. She NEVER releases her neck and is always stiff.

re: So You Think You Can Dance

lilprima, thank you. just thank you. i always feel isolated because i really don't admire Heidi and didn't want her in the top 4 (i wanted allison and either donyelle/natalie) and everyone seems to adore her and i really dont understand why. travis is absolutely amazing and completely deserves to win, imo. i completely agree with you. and even though travis is gay and is actually taken (by a not-to-bad-looking guy, i might add...) i will be marrying him as well. we can share him re: So You Think You Can Dance

hey, has anyone heard all this stuff floating around that benji lied on a missions trip or something along those lines about not being gay...? its funny, because i was 100% sure he was mormon.. in fact like 4 people in the finals were, right? hmmm.. just one of those rumors...

re: So You Think You Can Dance

Travis is mine! Just kidding =P That's great that he's got a cute boyfriend.

I always imagined the Top 4 as Benji, Travis, Donyelle, & Allison. When I first started watching the show, I never really knew how eveyrbody loved Heidi. I mean, Donyelle was my favorite. I really liked Allison's dancing, especially her contemporary solos. I only liked Heidi in the contemporary dance w/ Travis (where I noticed Travis was doing most of the dancing) & the rumba she did w/ Ryan.

I liked Natalie, but she never really stood out to me. I mean she's really pretty, but that was about it. She seemed kinda limited. SHe could kinda do the dance that she got for that week, but it was never really stand out. But I loved the jazz routine that she did w/ Benji (I really hope he wins!).

re: So You Think You Can Dance

I think Mia bashed Heidi too much the other night. =/ She didn't comment on Ivan enough.

re: So You Think You Can Dance

its not a big deal. just some stuff thats really none of my business anyway.

oh and i forgot to comment on Mia's choreography the other night. i absolutely loved it. i love imogen heap and loved how the dancers put emotion i didnt know they had into it. ivan was impressive as well. loved how their names were on their costumes because it took me forever to figure out who was who, it was so dark.. i esp. loved the end at the edge of the stage.

zoneace....just some really craptacularly, racist remarks towards Donyelle @ the fox boards for SYTYCD message board. It amazes me that people can get really ugly really quickly over a show.

re: So You Think You Can Dance

ARapp - I just gave up on the Fox MB about 10 minutes ago. After about a week or two of trying to find the non-hating threads, I just decided it's too much work and not worth it, lol. They're everywhere!

To whoever said that the most pirouettes they've ever seen Donyelle do were doubles and that they attributed that to her weight and not her broken big toe...that's such a horrible thing to try to say while pretending to be objective; it's just juvenile.

I am a big girl and can pull off triples with ease - have been since college. Why would not being a toothpick effect your ability to do pirouettes? (cause Donyelle is by no means big, unless you're comparing her to other eating-disorder dancers) YOU should head straight to the Fox Message Board, it sounds like it'd be right up your alley!

Lastly, I think because it's so close to the end, that the dancers feel more accomplished than defeated leaving at this point. At least that's how I'd feel. ie, if it were down to me and three other girls out of thousands for a role in a show, sure I'd be upset that I didn't get it, but I think the fact that I beat out all but 2 would be in the forefront of my mind. And of course it just how cool Ivan and Natalie are that they left so graciously.

I cannot wait for the tour - anyone else going?

If I show you the darkness I hold inside, will you bring me to light?

*shakes head at Lauren*

Ok look (or read in this case). My opinion is regard to Mia's criticism is this: I feel that she definitely has a right to tell the contestants what they are doing right and what they are lacking, because well, she's the one that's going to be working with them and instructing them. However, I agree that she was a little harsh at times, but like each did, the performers can use the harshness to improve. In regard to Heidi's popularity, I don't really see it much either. I mean, I was an Alison & Natalie fan, and didn't see much in Heidi at first. However with time she has greatly improved versatility-wise, which is why I believe she is still in the competition. She has amazing technique, but to me she doesn't seem as graceful at the other dancers. Like said, she seems too stiff.

Also: Can I share Travis too? Please?

re: So You Think You Can Dance

*sigh* I suppose we'll all have share Travis. I don't blame anybody for wanting to have him. I agree w/ whoever said "he's as cute as a button." I just realized thatYtravis probably made that shirt all by himself (The one that said "TEMPO-01. Very cute shirt), since on the Fox site for his bio, it says he loves designing clothes. SO does Natalie. They could make like their own company! Wow I'm a dork...

My siter might get the tickets for my Christmas present. I've been trying to find out the price, but I suppose nobody will find out til they go on sale.

Your Mom Goes To College

Lauren - wow. good one. guess you showed me....?

Yes, I went to college. Why does that surprise you? Because I don't hold the same opinion as you? Or because I'm bigger? Fat girls can't be smart now? I must have missed that memo

If I show you the darkness I hold inside, will you bring me to light?

Your Mom Goes To College

rKrispyt - Please accept my sincerest apologies if I didn't recognize that your previous post was written by a college-educated person and mistook it for one written by someone who was much younger, immature and uneducated. My surprise at your having even attended college was solely predicated on your writing style, your spelling and sentence construction, and your ad hominem attack. However I can see that you have since severely edited your original post, so anyone reading this thread now will not fully appreciate my response. Your Mom Goes To College

I have consistently praised Donyelle throughout this thread and said that she deserved to be in the final 4 (women). I have always liked her. And unlike you, I have not edited any of my prior posts. But in my opinion, she has not impressed me during the past few weeks, which is exactly what Mia had said. Of all the posts in which I praised Donyelle, yes, I did make ONE single comment that I thought her weight did hamper her in ONE aspect of her dancing. For that, you went into your tirade and slung an offensive reply laced with ad hominem attacks, which you have since conveniently edited.

Have we become such a politically correct society that a person cannot even mention a physical attribute such as weight in a contest that involves physical performance? I am thrilled that you can do a triple pirouette for a girl who is much bigger than Donyelle (your words - not mine - which you have since removed from your own post).

You have turned this discussion into one of weight. That is your issue, not mine.

Your Mom Goes To College

I have always been a fan of Heidi's gracious attitude. She has grown on me as dancer AND performer. I am looking forward to seeing what she does in the final.

Your Mom Goes To College

Yes, I am a Heidi fan; as my many posts have stated. I find she and Benji to be the most versatile of the dancers. And, they both know how to entertain. I'd be happy if either one of them wins this competition.

Your Mom Goes To College

Heidi and Benji both have a professionalism that I think is lacking in many of the others.

(edited for spelling, though when I saw my error--"Benjo"--it made me smile!)

Your Mom Goes To College

I thought it was cute when Heidi reached for Donyelle's hand during the first round of results. I didn't really care much Heidi in the beginning but as the weeks went on I started to like her more. Basically the antithesis of what I feel about Donyelle. I think both of the boys deserve the win, so if either gets it I’ll b happy. Heidi, in my opinion, should finish at least in third place. She has definitely proven herself as a dancer, she may have limitations, but they are never apparent when she dances and that what counts, the same for Benji.
