What we look for in a dancer

Ok thoughts on tonight:

Heidi and Travis: Brilliant. These two are fantastic partners and really bring out the best in one another. I loved the little butt bump they were doing next to Cat during the judging.

Donyelle and Benji-I thought that Benji did a fantastic job, but Donyelle didn't really do anything for me. I agreed that her arms were weirdly shaped on the turns, as were Benji's at certain points. Benji got a little close there at the end! haha. But overall, the performance did nothing for me.

Tranji (aka Travis and Benji)-This was the highlight of the night. It made me laugh and want to get up there, dance, and be nerdy right along with them. The whole school nerd concept was brilliant, and I loved the flips over each other's shoulders. However one thing I would've changed: Take the shirts completely off!

Heidi and Donyelle- Blah. Blah. Blah. It bored me to death. The only thing that I liked about it was the end pose. Heidi totally out-performed (if that's a word) Donyelle. I don't know if it was just the simplistic choreography that I didn't like, or the performers. All in all I hope they don't perform that again ever.

Travis and Donyelle-They did an excellent job with this routine. I loved the whole "laziness" factor and they pulled it off well. It kinda made me want to go to Georgia. What we look for in a dancer I also loved how Donyelle stole whatever was in Travis's mouth.

Benji and Heidi-Goodness gracious great balls of fire! I think that basically sums up these two. I have a feeling that there's going to be a cousin rivalry in the finale. That split lift was INSANE! My mouth was wide open like "holy s***!" I love these two.

All in all send Donyelle home. I want Travis, Heidi, and Benji to stay, even though one of the guys has to be sent home. What we look for in a dancer

What we look for in a dancer

Quick notes:

Heidi and Travis-Disco: one trick after another (not necessarily in a good way), but fun to watch, Travis has great strength

Donyelle and Benji-Waltz: lovely, a real joy in their dancing and partnership, i think the judges were correct that it was not technically superior but, to the average viewer, i don't think that mattered

Heidi's solo was sexy!

Tranji (?) One of the best routines of the season ... Travis actually had personality

Donyelle deserves points for the uniqueness of her solos

Travis is the cockiest dancer on the show. I thought him pumping up the crowd at the beginning of his solo was so unprofessional

Heidi and Donyelle ... uh oh ... Tyce is choreographing! those eyelashes were ill conceived, and, not surprisingly, that number was BLAH! This did nothing to help either one of them win

Benji ... the solo you expect ...

Donyelle and Travis ... lovely contemporary

Heidi and Benji ... best of the night! Hot!

Group number was a lot fun ...

Random thoughts ... I think Benji is kind of sexy ... I think they should have to do solos outside their specialty ... I don't think tonight did anything to change any one's mind ... people were going to vote for who they were going to vote for ...

At this point my only hope is that Donyelle is fourth place because everyone else deserves to win.

TRAVIS MUST WIN.

Not only is he amazing in every way, he also danced to "Konstantine" and I love that song with a passion.

(Plus, if Benji wins, he probably won't take the Celine contract. If Travis wins, he will, and then he'll live in the same city as me and I work at the best dance store in Vegas and if he came in there when I was working, I would probably die. AHH.)

ahh, Heidi and Benji were frickin AMAZING last night. I wish they could have been partners the entire show! They should deff stick to dancing together.

and i loved the Trenji performance! not only good but extremely entertaining!

The finale was soo good! and i loved the routine to "Sexy Back". I cant wait for next week!!

I don't know if this was covered in the previous messages,

but...Why do people think Tyce is a good choreographer? Personally, I think he's the worst, and tends to ruin what could be really good Broadway numbers.

As for my preference, I think Benji deserves to win, cuz he is a true performer in many aspects.

Heidi should come in second.
"Do you know what pledge time is, Andrew"? said the PBS Executive. "Yes", Lloyd Webber replied. "My 50th birthday special must be one program that gets done a lot." "No", mused the man from PBS heedlessy. "Not so much. Our Stephen Sondheim Carnegie Hall concert. That's a big one." Spoons, forks and knives seemed suddenly to suspend their motion in horror, all around the table.

i dont care what order they come in as long as its heidi and benji in the top 2!! they both have their strengths and i cant just pick one!

What we look for in a dancer

Benji did my favorite solo.

I thought Mia's routine was pleasant, but rather mediocre.

Tyce's Broadway routine was, once again, uninspired, too simplistic; and, way beneath the girls' abilities.

Travis still, for me, lacks whatever it was that Nick possessed, last year.

Heidi and Benji were sublime.

I like Donyelle (I like the final four), I just don't think she deserves to win this. The other three do; but my personal favorite has always been Benji, with Heidi an extremely close second. There's an immaturity about Travis, and I find him a bit off-putting, as well. Still, I like him.

lilprima, why do you say Benji won't take the Celine contract?

I think Heidi has been given the easiest ride along this whole season. She and Benji should have kicked ass with their routine. It's their genre. Her solos have been identical. She is a great dancer, but her mugging is too much. She should've gone before Alison.

Donyelle had the misfortune of getting that damn waltz, something way out of her comfort zone. She, tho, is a more interesting dancer and has been amazing throughout.

Both men are great. Benji has surprised me, but I dont think he is as polished as Travis. It isnt a popularity contest, but a dance contest. There is no contest.

Heidi should go first, Donyelle second, Benji third and Travis should win.

I deff think that the broadway routine last night sucked. and it has nothing to do wth heidi and donyelle, the choreography was TERRIBLE! this is the finale and they were given boring choreography. What we look for in a dancer

The eyelashes failed miserably too.

Actually, doodle, it is a popularity contest, as Nigel keeps reminding us. America is voting on their "favorite" dancer, not the "best" dancer.

America, of course, is voting for the favorite dancer...I stand corrected.

Travis is the best dancer and should win, regardless. I havent seen him do anything unprofessional. How is pumping your arms any different than winking in the camera holding up three fingers? He wants to win and is pumped up.

What we look for in a dancer

Heidi and Travis - Lots of energy, boring routine. Just tricks on top of tricks. More lifts than dancing. Meh.

Donyelle and Benji - In a word...awkward. Not smooth and their transitions were very bumpy. They just didn't connect on this number. And Donyelle's carriage was very weak. It's just not her thing.

Benji and Travis - Fun fun fun! Great choreography and brilliantly performed. I thought Benji outshone Travis on this one.

Heidi and Donyelle - Zzzzzzz..... Awful choreography. I disagreed with the judges. I thought the girls pushed it about as far as they could. There really wasn't anything more they could have added without rechoreographing the number, which would have been a very good idea. Tyce is the the hottest looking choreographer on the show, but his choreography has been pretty cold for a while.

Donyelle and Travis - Fantastic number. Very Paul Taylor-esque. It reminded me a lot of his "A Field of Grass". Very lazy and free, but complex at the same time. It's really difficult to make that choreography look so carefree and easy.

Heidi and Benji - Perfection. I didn't care for the beginning and almost got bored and then it just took off and I was floored by the end.

Group number - By far, my favorite routine of the season. Right up there with the Thriller number and the contemporary Coppelia. For me, Donyelle completely dominated the number. I couldn't keep my eyes off her. Not to mention I was most impressed with her solo simply for the emotional punch she packs into her dances. None of the other performers are half as expressive as Donyelle. Too bad she doesn't stand a chance in winning.

Solos:

Heidi - Fast feet and all smiles, totally talented and adorable
Donyelle - Powerful, riveting performance, she commands attention
Travis - Technically great, high energy, little emotion
Benji - Another inventive ending, great performance and energy
